18.  WH interpreters observations-amount to first hand knowledge of ear piece?

To the mods: Below are portions of a letter from Bush contract interpreter Fred Burks to Bob Fertik of democrats.com detailing Burks' exclusive assessment of Bush wearing an earpiece. If you must, move this thread but I urge you not to since this is the FIRST news from someone with first-hand knowledge.

From: Fred Burks

As a deep insider myself, I have independent confirmation of President Bush using an earpiece to assist him in communicating intelligently with others. I've worked as a contract Indonesian language interpreter with the US State Department for over 18 years. I first started interpreting at the presidential level in 1995 at a White House meeting for President Clinton and President Suharto of Indonesia with their top advisors. You can read a short story of the many small miracles that led me to interpret for presidents at www.gcforall.org/inspirations (scroll down to Issue #1, where it is the second story).

On September 19, 2001, just eight days after 9/11, I was in the White House interpreting for an important 90-minute meeting between President Bush and President Megawati Soekarnoputri of Indonesia. This meeting made national news on all the TV networks, as at the time, the administration wanted to show they were supportive of our Muslim friends. Indonesia has the largest population of Muslims in the world. Over 80% of Indonesia's 220 million people are Muslim.

This was my first time interpreting for Bush. The previous day, I had been given the 22 points Bush would be covering in this meeting in order to familiarize myself with the topics to be discussed. About half of these "talking points" had to do with terrorism, which was to be fully expected given what had just happened. The other points, however, involved many details of Indonesian politics which even I would have had a tough time addressing, let alone Bush, who I assumed had limited knowledge of Indonesia.

During those 90 minutes, President Bush not only covered all the points, he covered them quite well and without any notes! Not once during the entire meeting did he look at any notes or receive cues from anyone present in discussing the Indonesian political situation with depth and intelligence. I was astonished! "How could this be?" I asked myself. It was a huge surprise. I concluded either that Bush was much more intelligent than we had been led to believe, or that somehow someone was feeding answers to him through a hidden earpiece. At the time, I really didn't know which of these was true.

Having worked directly with President Bush twice since then, and having additionally talked with many of my fellow interpreters who have worked directly with him, I am now certain that he could not have had that much knowledge of Indonesia. He doesn't even read the daily newspaper to keep up with what's being reported in the press. I am convinced that he must have been using some sort of earpiece through which someone was telling him what to say.

Having interpreted for media guests touring large TV studios, I've seen how the news anchors all have hidden earphones, and how the news producers are feeding them all sorts of information even as they talk live on TV. "20 seconds to a commercial," "15 seconds of filler here," "wrap it up quick " etc... This is standard practice for live TV shows. The "let me finish" comment made by Bush in the debate was only confirmation of something I already knew.

3. My brother has figured this out.

He wrote in this morning's email (on one of dem dare internets), after seeing the picture of George W. with that thin blue cord under his matching blue tie:

maybe it isn't a hidden microphone/battery pack remote set-up at all, although i swear i could see a little straight piece of clear wire or tubing over his left ear.........which, by the way, couldn't be detected after the first robot, i mean first lady, came to the stage at the end of the second debacle. i swear, has she had muscular restructuring to keep that shit-eating smile a permanent fixture? here is my theory: if it isn't a remote thing, then it has to be a life-giving tube to a shunt over his ear. the source, you ask? well, the man is wearing a male urinal device that drains into a tube that goes up his stomach, around under his left arm and to the middle of the shoulder blades and then to the shunt. herein explains the term and the man: piss for brains.

10. He also wears shoulder pads
to make himself look bigger.

I think Bush is wearing all kinds of stuff. From the lifts in his shoes to the wire in his ear, Bush is definitely wearing a number of enhancements. But despite all the advantages, you still can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

4. TENS unit for pain because he keeps falling down
that's why he won't have a physical. Which is stupid, if he hurt his back whats the big deal. Unless there is a reason he keeps falling that they don't want us to know - like Reagan's Alzheimer's.

I still like the theory that it was a shock unit that his handlers used to shut him up when he was saying something they hadn't OKed

8. Maybe because of the medication
I believe it was mentioned in Bob Woodward's last book on Bush that he takes two types of medication on a daily basis. It might be oxycontin or some other pain killer. That could explain some of Bush's press conferences where he looks asleep. Then, it might also explain press conferences where Bush looks out of control, if they have to counter-act the soporific effect of pain killers with some kind of "upper". My guess is that the President is becoming addicted to pain killer drugs and the TENS Unit isn't effective (if it's indeed a TENS Unit).

17. I didn't mean to imply that bush had Alzheimer's
I was thinking more along the lines of MS. or some left over damage because of all his drinking and drugging.

16. A TENS Unit has a little transmitter box and also a square pad
that fits over the area of the back that is experiencing pain. The electronic stimulator box can be worn on the belt like a beeper. But there's a large pad that resembles the square-shaped pad in the photos that fits over the painful area that receives the electrical nerve impulses.

http://www.backbenimble.com/new/pages/tensunit/

If Bush is wearing anything, my guess is that it's a TENS unit for back pain, something very commonly used. My question is whether he's also on strong pain meds. I note that Bush's doctor issued a summary of his medical examination in August, 2001. In that August, 2001 report there was mention of back pain, which was asymptomatic at the time, apparently occuring through a lifting injury in 1990. Since that time, it's been Bush's Press Secretary who has given a second-hand report of the summary of his medical exam. In other words, we haven't heard directly from Bush's doctors regarding his annual physicals since 2001.

5. well the part that got me was when he waited too long to respond
at one point.. he just stared blankly into the camera & blinked for about 4-5 seconds... I mean either his brain is fried (which may be it) or he was listening in for something. Also the "let me finish!" comment was not natural.

7. Quick question about the alleged receiver
Is there a reason that placement between the shoulderblades is optimal?

If concealing it were the goal, wouldn't it make more sense to hide it near his waistband or shoulder-holster style, rather than on his back?

Also -- to my eyes, the bulge in photos of the first debate seems to be bigger than the second debate.

BTW -- I am inclined to believe that president pinhead is being coached, which I suspected watching his gestures during the debates -- when Kerry spoke, Bush was listening, but not with his eyes focused on Kerry, but on empty space, the same way people listen to disembodied voices, like radio transmissions.

12. I agree with you. Even if they were putting it on his back, the small
of the lower back would be a lot better for concealment under a suit jacket.

It'd be funny if there was something like this, and it started shorting out from the flop sweat a la "Blowout".

9. Why was Bitch
adjusting his tie so often during the second debate??
At times he looked like he was trying to tuck something into his pants.
The funny thing is that if he wasn't such a liar in the first place we wouldn't even suspect he was wired.

Maybe the FCC should fine him?

That's what he gets for have his suits made by a French tailor.

15. Bush kept picking at the button on his suitcoat. What was up with THAT?
I think we all know ...

It's not a wrinkle, a back brace or a transmitter. It's just his lil' wings!
