Is WI Senate candidate Tim Michels outsourcing his push-pollers? |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-10-04 05:47 PM by RatTerrier
Just got a call from a 'pollster'. It could have been legit, but the questions seemed to favor Tim Michels, a repulsive Republican smear artist running for Senate in Wisconsin against Russ Feingold. The person was a bit hard to understand, definitely Indian, and the caller ID listed a number from Utah, (801)494-1992. The name on the ID says "Western WATS".
Asked many questions about the Wisconsin senate race, candidate advertising, and my voting habits. Anyone get anything like this?
Ironic that Michels outsourced his personal pollsters, considering his opponent has come out hard against it.

Michels seems like a lightweight.

Michels has nothing new to say "Feingold hates America." Riiiight.
Feingold has all these facts about his record in his ads, plus is explaining clearly that he wants to FIX the Patriot Act, not get rid of it. His campaign is wonderfully positive while still getting his point across. I'm proud that he's from my state. The only senator to vote against the Patriot Act. The right keeps saying that like it's a bad thing. He's a damn hero in my book.
Slightly related: I've been wanting to stop at houses when I see a Feingold sign, but not Kerry's. Today, on my way to drop off a sign to a church member, I spotted one of these. I was kinda scared, but rang the doorbell anyway. The woman had a picture of a boy in uniform, with ribbons and flags around it. I thought, "Oh oh, maybe they don't have a Kerry sign for a reason." By that time the woman was at the door, though, so I semi-boldly continued. She was delighted to have a Kerry sign, and even asked for one for her daughter, who lives on a busier street. So glad I stopped.
When I phone canvass, sometimes the support for Feingold is stronger than it is for Kerry. Some undecideds have already decided they're voting for Russ. Some Bush people are even leaning his way.
Yes I think he is safe.

He wanted to know if I wanted my name put on some kind of polling report. I declined.
Then he asked if I was listed in the phone book, at the number he called.
