CNN has become unwatchable
Their Headline News channel is pummping anti-Kerry propoganda every 15 minutes. The latest? "Bush has a GREAT chance of winning both Minnesota and Ohio", "In the 2nd presidential debate, our polls show a 'significantly meaningless' number for Kerry (ie 44-41)", "Kerry is campaigning for black votes with Jesse Jackson."

1. So why watch it?
No offense, but seriously. IMO Anderson Cooper, James Carville, Paul Begala, and Lou Dobbs are the only remaining voices of "reason" at CNN.

5. I broke the habit with sports, The History Channel, and HGTV
It may sound pathetic but it worked and I am consequently much more at peace.

7. Yeah I already watch sports.
And the History Channel when it's something other than Hitler. I like the UFO and Bible shows on there.

6. nothing else to watch?
Please. Force yourself to turn it off! I record Washington Journal on C-SPAN and The PBS NewsHour. Believe me, that will give you plenty of TV news to watch.

(I do fast-forward through a lot of Washington Journal. All of the "yay-hoos" that call in to the show drive me a little nuts.)

4. I finally quit watching CNN altogether a couple months ago
because they were driving me nuts. Even the few "good" talking heads aren't good enough to make up for their really egregious Bush-sucking. They have become just about as obvious as Pox News.

Someday I want to participate in a huge, torches-and-pitchforks demonstration in front of their headquarters in ATL.

3. CNN sucks
Edited on Sun Oct-10-04 10:02 PM by siliconefreak
I gave up on them when they "improved" Headline News a couple years ago by adding such great journalists as Andrea Thompson. (Remember her? The one with the big lips?) She quit after a year and went back to acting, so they say.

Just ignore them. CNN = News For Dummies

8. Caught a little of wolf v. Edwards today
Edited on Sun Oct-10-04 09:59 PM by nu_duer
After hyping the Afghan election, he then brought on Edwards, and asked him something like, "if Iraq has elections like this, won't the war (invasion) have been worth it?"

Edwards answered that well, as he did the subsequent rw questions from wolf.

I really, really NEVER watch faux. And I've just about come to the same place with cnn. The whorish anchors and commentators turn my stomach. And there is no regard for truth or fairness.

cnn is a joke.

9. Has? BECOME?!?
I used to be a CNN junkie. I knew something was afoot when it became OJ 24/7, but continued to watch regularly. They lost me at the end of the run-up to the war, when I saw that what they were reporting failed to match the reality I was seeing with my own eyes. What small bit of the "war" (read: unwarranted aggression) I saw on CNN disgusted me to the point that I became a faithful CBC Newsworld viewer, which I remain even to this day. I can look at up to 3 or 4 minutes of CNN in a week before becoming utterly disgusted. I don't even bother anymore. Stick it, CNN.

12. I think the Cable Newsies are coming to the conclusion
that the mouth-breathing right is their best constituency. No need to actually research anything: just ask on the "experts" from the think tanks and let them explain things. Facts are always malleable. As long as you are slanting against anything not republican life is good.

Lefties are so damn finicky. They expect truth and even-handed treatment, and where is the Springer'esque entertainment value in that? They expect information (which is expensive) and not just entertainment. Screw 'em. They're just going to take what is said and check it against facts, anyway.

Besides, they and their corporate masters loooooove their tax cuts. Its good to be the elite.

Carol Lin referred to JK "blowing his wad". Seriously, I just cannot tolerate CNN. There's just no good cable news.

at zero risk of being brainwashed.

when bush was at 90% approval i was proud to be among the 10% that knew he was a major league asshole.
