Great clip: Bush's dementia documented
Edited on Mon Oct-11-04 12:55 AM by realcountrymusic
DKos is linking to this rather amazing clip documenting the slide in Our Fearless Leader's mental acuity over ten years. 4.5 MB, but definitely worth the download.

It's on a comcast homepage, so I will *bet* the server overloads fast from Kos visitors hitting it. Recommend you get it now or be patient.

1. wow
As gov, I kinda like him being a moderate. Sounds reasonable and responsible. As President.....well we all know.

5. Not as good as I was hoping
They should have used video of the 1st debate where Bush pauses for long intervals.

One thing of note, though, factually speaking.

1994 Bush mentions property taxes on the rise in order to pay for education. 10 years later and several municipalities in Texas have reached the legal maximum property tax rate and no relief in sight.

12. You are absolutely correct
and funding education in Texas is a huge mess because Bush couldn't or wouldn't do anything about it except give lip-service.

6. I don't think that documents anything but an energy level.
He still had grammatical errors "fourteen year olders?" He is also speaking about an entirely different subject and one that through him for a loop as opposed to one he was prepared for. Sorry, I loathe Bush, but I wouldn't be so quick to label him senile.

10. It looks to me like a lot more
than just energy level. He has a presence in the early footage that he just doesn't have later. In his recent appearances it's like he's really not even there. This is the case, even when he's very energized, like in the last debate.

I noticed the exact same thing in archival footage in F9/11. I think there's a real phenomenon of neurological degeneration going on. No wonder he's decided to skip his physical until after the election.

8. he was articulate in the F 9/11 clip also
It was early 90s I think when he was talking about "access is power". He was definitely a lot more articulate then.

9. That was pretty amazing.
Thanks for posting it. The difference is striking, as if it's two different people.

I also noticed the difference in the footage in F9/11, but this lays it out much more starkly.

The deterioration seems to be proceeding pretty rapidly. If this guy gets reselected, he will be practically brain dead by the end of his second term.
