The Idea:
A website with a database of advertisers who show ads on the Sinclair network. Anonymous people can browse thru and add entries whenever they see an ad shown on the Sinclair network. This will give a real-time league table of ads shown on Sinclair by day, so that we can monitor the progress of advertisers over time and can target the most frequent advertisers.
The idea is to boycott the most active companies who are advertising on Sinclair network. The problem with the current list (
http://www.parentstv.org/PTC/advertisers/main.html ) is that it lists all advertisers regardless of how often they advertise, and regardless of if they decide to minimise or stop advertising on the Sinclair network.
Each company will have its own page which users can add and discuss the types of products it produces (eg. A list of movies that DreamWorks SKG produces). Contact details will also be provided for each company.
There will be a discussion forum where users (either registered or anonymous) can post stories of when and how they have boycotted products (eg. "I usually buy Dell computers and was going to buy the XYZ model from Dell but instead I have purchased a Acme laptop from Acme & Co.). I will not be giving Dell Corp my business while they continue to advertise on the Sinclair network.").
Setup:
I am going to start work on this immediately and will have the initial site live by Friday 15th October 2004.

Volunteers who are willing to help moderate forums etc.
