"Bush aides deny Internet rumors he was wired" (not "drug" wired, sorry)
After reading the article, it appears that Bush aides are addressing the president's use of ELECTRONICS, not fine Peruvian flake.

Sorry if I got you all excited for nothing.

CHANHASSEN, Minnesota (AP) -- Campaign aides to President Bush on Saturday laughed off rampant Internet speculation about whether the president was wired to get help from advisers during his first debate with Sen. John Kerry.

"It's not true. It's ridiculous," Bush campaign spokesman Scott Stanzel said.

A still photo from television footage of Bush as he debated Kerry on September 30 in Coral Gables, Florida, appears to show a small, boxy shape between the president's shoulder blades.

Campaign officials declined to discuss it further because they weren't certain a bulge even existed and do not want to appear to take seriously what they consider a "wild accusation."

1. Sounds like he is from what they say. Right
Either that or we are not reading the right INTERNET. It is the one in the other zone we need to read.

4. declined to discuss it
"declined to discuss it further because they weren't certain a bulge een existed and do not want to appear to take it seriously"

Unless they are total imbeciles, they must realize that this will have the effect opposite from the one they desired.

"no, of course he didn't. In fact, we don't want to talk further about this, because it's total bull anyway"

Yeah, right.

3. Sure they're going to laugh it off...
It was a total and complete failure...they don't want their names attached to the botched cheat effort.

5. We need to keep up on this
Now that it is out in the media it could make him look pretty ridiculous.

Plus it's an issue where we have clear evidence; and it's one that both Salon and the NY times have picked up.

6. Bush's staff is playing a word game here, nothing more.
You notice they only denied the rumors from one Internet, when everyone knows there are many, MANY Internets out there, each with their own set of rumors concerning earpieces and drafts and such.

Mr. President, when will you come clean and face the growing number of suspicious allegations being brought forth on ALL of the Internets?
