Bush to paint Kerry as a "dangerous leftist" - photo caption

Leftist? WTF? Is it the 50's again?

President George W. Bush (news - web sites)'s tactic heading into the third and final presidential debate this week is to paint his opponent John Kerry (news - web sites) as a dangerous leftist who wants to increase the government's role in public life(AFP/File/Tim Sloan)

The dude just reeks of snake oil.

3. He's a total televangelist.
He's borrowed his whole stage persona from them.

8. I've noticed the resemblance before,
but it was extremely prounounced when he was prowling around the stage at the debate the other night. I kept expecting him to whip out a bible and slam it down while making a point, or putting his hand to someones forhead and yelling "HEAL!" It's such a production, and patently fake.

19. I *hadn't* noticed before,
but now that you mention it, it sure fits.

Many of his policies bear an uncanny resemblance to faith-healing as well. "I'm gonna lay my hands on the heart of Babylon, and cast those demons OUT!"

It's all beginning to make sense...

5. That's hilarious in the face of smirks increase of gooberment
in less than 4 years. That's why he appeals to the idiots in this country. He'll piant his opponent as the guy doing just what he himself has been doing to it.

7. I guess so long as the rightists know their bosses' taxes will stay low -
they don't really mind the government's intrusion into their medical, library, travel and financial information.

6. 1950's... you nailed it.
Keep in mind that most of the neocons can trace their roots from Regan to Goldwater. It all goes back to Goldwater, which is pretty scary if you think about it.

Anyway, yeah they want to get back to this idyllic fear controlled 1950s world with the de-regulation and big business run amok of the 1920s. Disturbing that they want to go back to the two worst times of the last century where only a few (the rich and powerful) lived in this special happy place that Boosh says we'll live in.

Don't let the pretzeldent out in the direct sunlight again.
what is going on with him? He looks like he has lots of little sub dermal hemorrages around his eyes and jawline...and look at that pained grimace. What's up with that?

21. Kerry should counter with :
"We have seen a president that is irritable, bellicose, and impatient here in the debates. Unfortunately, he has been the same in rushing us to war and making decisions that have cost the lives of American troops. He is not qualified to lead this country. He does not have the knowledge or the temperament."
