"Kerry is dangerously liberal" vs "Bush is a desperate, out-of-touch liar"
Folks, this is pretty much what the campaign will boil down to over the next three weeks. And whichever campaign's message sinks in the deepest among the undecideds is likely to prevail.

1. the "liberal" smear mean nothing when republicans run up a $450BN deficit
it used to mean that those lefties are fiscally irresponsible.

but when republicans can't control their spending, what's the harm in having a liberal in charge? people will recognize that a democratic president will keep republican congressional spending in check.

the only part of the smear left is the idea that democrats raise taxes, and kerry put an end to that, thanks to that WONDERFUL "look straight into the camera" question.
