Sinclair Broadcasting Comment Line |
|
I just called my Sinclair affiliate (Dayton, OH, which has two Sinclair-owned outlets) and was told to refer my complaint about the Kerry film to this number: 410-568-1780.
I will post this on the Ohio board as well, but to all Dayton area viewers and other Ohioans who can get the signal for WKEF and WRGT, the broadcast times of this film are 7-8 p.m. OCT. 20 on WKEF, and from 11 to midnight on WRGT. DO NOT WATCH THESE STATIONS DURING THIS TIME, and LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE NOT WATCHING AND WHY.
As an aside, WKEF is a constant ratings tanker in the Dayton area. It just lost its NBC affiliation this fall and is now ABC. Both a viewing and advertising boycott could be effective, especially since these stations are being commanded to air this film.
Sorry if the comment line has been posted previously.

Going to call the Cedar Rapids, Iowa station shortly. Emailed them yesterday and now feel I must call. This is an outrage!

2. The comment line has to be heard to be believed |

You call, and have to listen to a spiel that says the exact format of the program has not been finalized, and that the program has been blown all out of proportion by some groups (like us). It goes on to say that Kerry has been invited to participate in this "unscripted" program, and that we should call his campaign and urge him to take part.
When I was finally able to leave a message, I said asking Kerry to appear on this would be like asking someone to attend their own lynching, and that this was a clear end-run around election law. I further said that I will no longer be watching their stations, and that I hope they reconsider this show before Election Day.

3. 410 area code is here in Baltimore. |
|
You can't get anywhere near the TV stations here. Gated. Patrolled. They're clustered together on what is called TV Hill. Long, winding private road.
Now we know why.

4. Just left my message... |

Got through the first time, which means not enough people are calling in. Told them that we did not have one of their affiliates here in Indianapolis, but to voice my disapproval; I would be boycotting all of their sponsers.
