Will Pelosi and Daschle o the right thing and publicly denounce Sinclair? |
|
I think they should. If they point out how it is a slanderous piece of trash then Sinclair will look horrible airing something that is so obviously a violation of campaign finance laws.

1. It would be better if they resurrected the Fairness Doctrine. |

Edited on Mon Oct-11-04 01:44 PM by BJ
The policy of the United States Federal Communications Commission that became known as the "Fairness Doctrine" is an attempt to ensure that all coverage of controversial issues by a broadcast station be balanced and fair. The FCC took the view, in 1949, that station licensees were "public trustees," and as such had an obligation to afford reasonable opportunity for discussion of contrasting points of view on controversial issues of public importance. The Commission later held that stations were also obligated to actively seek out issues of importance to their community and air programming that addressed those issues. With the deregulation sweep of the Reagan Administration during the 1980s, the Commission dissolved the fairness doctrine. Link

2. Man, you gotta stay away from that Third Planet smoke |

Daschle is in full career-preservation mode in S.D.
Pelosi is a possiblity, but she gets poor news coverage most of the time.
I don't see the corporate media letting this get legs, as the possibility of FEC and FCC action hits a little too close to home.
I'm sure that CNN outage was just one of those October Is A Sun Outgage Month sort of moments, but you never know...

4. Forget Pelosi and Daschle.. How about Jennings and Koppel... |
|
... and heck, even Fuxers like O'Reilly... What Sinclair is trying to pull is absolutely shameless, and everybody (not just Democratic politicians) needs to point it out.

5. They might, they might not... |
|
...but one thing is certain, they definitely WON'T unless they hear it from us.
Everybody, right now, leave this site, and go write a letter to your congressmen and let them know that this is completely unacceptable.
