because the company that owns the distribution rights has to agree. Right now, they still want to be making money off the documentary-usually you don't show something for free unti you have taken in all the money that you can. They could show it on network tv--but they would probably have to have advertising to pay for it if they did so.

we need to do SOMETHING. But--I am sure that the DNC and Kerry are on top of it. It takes lawyers to negotiate distribution rights and stuff--they are probably working on something and we are not even aware of it. I'm not worried--we will either stop this from happening--or we will respond with something appropriate. (I don't know if it will be logistically possible for F911 to be the response though...)

It does not violate applicable campaign finance laws, because there is a clear media exception in the BCRA of 2002.
There may be a hurdle with FTC regulations, however, of which I know nothing.
