4. junk food, junk politics
That's good. It would also be a good campaign to explain to parents how this junk food got into our schools in the first place.

3. fruit and milk I guess
Not much left for me to eat! At least I'll be healthier. Call your local fast food joints and tell them why you won't be eating there and that they should call corporate and have them pull advertising from Sinclair.

8. Make sure you get your milk from Organic Valley, or other dairies that
state their cows are free range and hormone-free, otherwise you're dosing yourself with growth hormones and other nasties.

Sorry, but it's better if you know.

18. Ever heard of "grassroots action"??
They would be admitting that they are concerned about thier bottom line, not "playing politics".

NOT showing the partisan crap so close to the election would be staying neutral. SHOWING it is playing politics.

If YUM advertises at stations that show it, they are involved in that politics. If they don't, they are neutral.

They will quietly try to influence Sinclair, and if they fail they can publicly announce that they don't want to take sides in the election, therefore they're cutting Sinclair loose.

What's wrong, you got YUM shares?

14. Then just talk to them
Tell them what Sinclair is doing and if they really care about democracy, they'll at least weigh in on it. It is wrong for one person to spew his political views out to 25% of the American population just because he bought up all the media. All the Rock the Vote in the world won't matter if one person controls 25% of the media and uses it to spew his own political views. That is fascism, absolutely.

They can rock the vote all they want, if they don't use thier influence to convince Sinclair to smarten up and drop this partisan bullshit I will NEVER eat ANY of thier food again.

And that's a big sacrafice 'cause I'm a KFC junkie.

Get on board or get lost.

12. PLEASE CALL THEM
I got through to an executive in a nano second when I told the person on the phone that they'd be inundated with calls from people upset that Yum advertises on Sinclair and told her about the Kerry documentary. I told the exec that they should worry about their stock prices if they didn't remove ads from Sinclair.

33. I haven't touched Pepsi for years....
Pepsi, along with ITT and several copper companies, were the ones who bankrolled the overthrow of Salvador Allende's democratically-elected "popular front" government in Chile in 1973.

When I first heard about this as a teenager in the 1980s, I drank my last Pepsi. I haven't touched it since, and see no need to start drinking it now.

27. Here's the letter I sent
To: Pepsico@.....

Please read this article. After reading it, I'm sure
that you will agree with me that spending your
advertising money on Sinclair Broadcasting is akin to
paying money to a corrupt business.

http://www.freepress.org/columns/display/3/2004/966

Sincerely,

P.S. There are a LOT of us who are watching to see
who is and is not doing business with Sinclair
Broadcasting in the next couple of weeks. I'm a
member of several activist boards with combined
memberships totalling hundreds of thousands of people
who have access to millions of other people who are
not members. We are angry and energized over this
matter. Please take your customers into
consideration. Thank you!
