Kucinich is closer to the Eugene McCarthy Vote...and I love the guy, but |
|
I know even though my "heart" was with this radical....he won't make it to the Presidency...but OMG! I'm glad I gave him little bucks along with Dean and glad that we've had Democratic Debates long enough to hear his voice! He is pushing the Dem party more to the Left...but he get's to alot of what's wrong...and to most of it, really......no matter what his Catholic voice vote has in agreement or disagreement with him.
He's really stretching us leftward in my respects. I think this is really good for "dialog" within our party! Go Dennis...hang your butt in there as long as you can as a "voice from the wilderness" and along with Howard Dean and Moseley-Braun...you've let your "small voice" be heard amongst the "Hacks" and "wannabe Hacks!"
He stays strong to the "Bring the "Troops Home/Un In" no matter who attacks him...and he just "Is" what he "Is." A short guy...who doesn't look like what we think should be Pres....but he "hangs in there" and is the more respectable for the trying.
Leaning towards Dean....but heart is with Kucinich...but I'm very pragmatic.

1. Why not vote your heart in the primaries to help move DNC to the left |

I like Dennis largely because he's against WTO and NAFTA.
Dennis did seem flustered tonight. BTW, I'm almost 100% certain that he WON'T be a nominee. But it's good to have issue candidates that help to shape the message of the frontrunners.

3. The primaries are where you're SUPPOSED to vote your heart |
|
and make your statement about the direction you want the party to take.
Most of us will have to compromise in the General Election. Why compromise before you have to?

I was too young to vote in 1968, but I campaigned for McCarthy during that spring and summer.
Raised Republican and "radicalized" by the war, I was not in the streets outside the Dem convention in Chicago, yet I followed all the coverage. My heart was with the protesters, and I thought that event taught all I needed to know about the perfidy of the Democrats. I was sure Humphrey was as bad as LBJ (in terms of the war, which was most of what I considered).
After starting college that fall, when I could have been working for Humphrey, I lost interest instead. I did almost nothing politically useful until the very last minute when I wrote my parents urging them to vote for Humphrey. Somehow I was just barely starting to feel his evil might be slightly better than what I was coming to see in the GOP. My letter reached home after Election Day, crossing in the mail with my folks' card to me: After voting for Nixon they felt more represented in the White House than anytime they could remember! The biggest reason, they said, was his promise to end the war.
I learned lots about electoral politics that year, including the lesson I am applying at this moment: Campaign for who and what I truly want as long as I can; after that, support the next best I can get. Later I learned there would be more elections and more chances. And I learned I could make a difference year in and year out.
Hey, thanks for the memories!

5. Time for you and everyone who feels like this to VOTE |
|
with your HEART and POCKETBOOK.(OR WALLET, as the case may be.)
We won't have another chance. When Bobby Kennedy was shot,I thought we would never have a great national leader whom I could admire.
We are so blessed to have this fine leader.Let's SUPPORT HIM, with time money, energy, and VOTES.

6. He IS America. I watched him speak on Saturday and... |
|
it brought me to tears. The Iowa crowd loved it. He was followed by Dean, who was very flat.
