Stephanie Cutter! Take a deep breath!
Just saw Stephanie on CNN -- she looked nervous, jittery, worried, and rattled.

This allowed Tucker Eskew to look laid back, confident, and calm.

Take a break, take a break, Stephanie!

When you represent Kerry, you must be as calm and resolute as he is. Do not DARE give them opportunity to rattle you.

1. Tucker Eskew looks like a real creep
He hasn't reached Ralph Reed level of creepiness, but he's getting close.

7. I've been watching that little slimy creep since he was
Carroll Campbell's press secretary here in SC. He was a slimeball then and he's a bigger slimeball now. Another Karl Rove/Lee Atwater wannabe.

2. I really, really prefer Joe Lockhart in this role.
Nobody handles the media better than Lockhart. He shows how it's done.

I agree that Stephanie could use some work on her calm, reassuring delivery.

3. Oh common. Stephanie did just fine.
Sure Joe is much better, but he's had a LOT of experience under the gun! Remember the daily press conferences where the press really beat the sh*t out of him!

Steph did just fine.

4. I thought Tucker blew...
He seem dumbfounded and evasive when asked about Bush's own statements seeming very similar to Kerry's. Then Stephnie got him on the defensive about some other subject at the end of the piece. I think she did fine.

5. Stephanie usually appears to be nervous.
She has a lot of energy... just the way she is.

But I have never seen her do anything but a good job.

6. when she's with Chris Matthews...
...she's a different person than she was today. I was surprised to see her so rattled.

8. Stephanie Cutter did a fine job. Carter Eskew is the one who looks worried
trying to peddle this crap. They could peddle it if the media was not Bush campaign enablers.

I thought Stephanie scored a great point when she pointed out this very thing--that the Bush campaign would prefer to focus on distortion rather than talk about Bush's failures.

9. The point is . . .
. . . we don't need Stephanie doing the press interviews at all. We have Lockhart, McCurry and Howard Wolfson (who is excellent) IMO.

No need to be PC and have any and everyone doing press. Just get the best folks to do it, and in my opinion its those 3 (not including elected officials like Hilary, Dean, etc.)

10. No, the point is that Stephanie Cutter is quite capable of responding to
Bush daily talking points.
