Poll question: Should Kerry accept Sinclair's invitation?
Edited on Mon Oct-11-04 03:46 PM by rocknation
Sinclair has said that Kerry is welcome to join them in a discusssion after the showing of their smear movie.

...Mark Hyman, a vice president of corporate relations for Sinclair who also is a conservative commentator for the company, said..."The documentary is just a part of a special news event that we're putting together. We've invited one person to be a guest. That's Senator John Kerry." The company posted a note on its Web site Monday afternoon urging people to call Kerry's headquarters to urge his participation...

Bill O'Reilly tried something similar with the Smear Boaters, suggesting that Kerry come on his show and "tell the whole truth" although he was the one who was lied about.

Would you believe this is my very first poll?

1. The Kerry campaign has said they've recieved no such invite
I'll reserve judgement until they actually invite him.

10. I'd rather "Going Upriver" -- F 9/11 has been seen
by many people already.

The Kerry doc shows his testimony in context.

3. No, because they will edit it to make him look bad.
Basically, they will O'Reilly him, and even if it's live, the best he can hope for is to be shouted at by bitter old men in worn combat fatigues. It's a losing situation any way to slice it.

4. Absolutely not!!!!
The panel will be packed against him and they'll ask him "do you still beat your wife" questions.

Further, by appearing at all he give legitimacy to the smear.

11. Stay above the whole thing, and keep on message
By agreeing to appear, he feeds it. It may stay alive, but he shouldn't legitimize it.

5. I voted No ...
then thought ... Sure, as long as we can also see AWOL's rebuttle of F-911. That should be good for more than a laugh.

Cheers

6. Only if he can bring about 50 of his vet buddies with him
So they can be like "Gee... I don't remember it that way, but I was THERE, what would I know..."

7. Only if Kerry can bring backups
such as Carville, who will chew them up and spit them out like watermelon seeds.

After all, Boy George brought the big Dick to hold his hand during the 911 Commission hearing.

8. Kerry should find another station that will give him time to respond
That way immediately after watching that ad-free crap in Sinclair, people would turn to another station to get Kerry's response.

9. No they're going down
and this is their hail Mary pass. Kerry shouldn't even dignify them with an answer. If they want to show a movie, convince movie theaters to show it like everybody else. Let people who are so anxious to see their swill show their interest by paying for it.

Network programming is not owned by Sinclair. They have no right to pre-empt it. They already see the firestorm this has created. And this is only Monday. Wait until they see what it's like by Friday.

The stock is already going straight down.
