I think it's quite clear Kerry's surge is based off the two debates. That surge kick started his campaign and probably has pushed him ahead of Bush. The problem with this however is that the final debate is close to three weeks before the election. What does Kerry do to keep the lead? How does he not falter like he did after the Democratic Convention? If anything, the debates being so early HELP Bush because people might forget about the debates by the time October ends. If that's the case, can Kerry really hold the advantage?

All Kerry has to do to keep the lead is keep doing what he has been doing. The debates helped Kerry by exposing Bush for what he is...an idiot. All they can do is attack Kerry, and thats not working anymore.

5. Well I'm not optimistic because I saw Kerry lose his convention lead.

I wouldn't put anything past Bush and I feel the idle period will bring up a lot of anti-Kerry stories. Whether they're true or not doesn't seem to hinder their ability to sway voters (look at the hit Kerry took because of the Swift Votes Veterans).

11. I have been wondering about this on some level.
