You know what's great about this election???
Because of the last one, I have NO DOUBT that if things start to look rigged/dirty, Kerry and the rest of us will FIGHT HARD and not do that sort of bewildered, well let's all come together in unity thing that some did (not ALL) last time. I honestly think it just caught some off-guard (myself included).

Not this time, baby. Not this time. I hear Kerry's got **500** lawyers on the ground in Florida alone. We've got international election monitors for the first time in US history.

And we've got a whole shitload of people who WILL NOT be disenfranchised again.

In talking to lower income and minority voters here in TX, they are STILL pissed off about what happened in 2000 and it didn't even happen here (we don't think).

I take heart in all this. It'll be on like Donkey Kong if they try to steal it THIS time.

1. True, but things are going to get ugly
The fix is in as we speak. I know the repukes are walking around all smug because they have from the beginning been relying on E-Voting to put them over the top. The outrage is going to come from all corners and these fascist fucks could care less how much more divided our country becomes after this bullshits settles. Brace yourself, it's coming.

2. Well wasn't it foolish of them to allow the Assault Weapons Ban expire.
I mean, it could get insane, and with deer season up here in hillbilly land, I actually hear assault weapons going off. Too creepy.

9. What does an "assault weapon" sound like, Shoeempress?
How can you tell one kind of gun from another? Don't they all go "bang!"?

10. I lived in Detroit, I can tell the difference
Assualt rifles have repeat firing capacity. If you hear repeated firing, several shots in a row, it's likely a weapon like an Uzi or AK-47. If you hear a single shot, or the shots are farther apart, it's more likely a handgun, shotgun or hunting rifle. Although there are handguns with automatic abilities.

I live just over 8 Mile Road in Warren. I heard a series of shots on Saturday night, coming from the Detroit side. It sounded to me like an assualt rifle.

PS-I'm not an expert on guns, I'm not claiming to know all that much about them, so gun nuts do not need to correct my statement.

12. Revolvers have repeat firing capacity too

I've seen people who can get six shots off in just over a second, and actually hit what they're aiming at.

But really the point I'd like to may be able to surmise that someone is firing a semiautomatic firarm but not necessarily a former "assault weapon".

Although there are handguns with automatic abilities.

Yes, like the selective-fire Glock G18, but there aren't many of those in this country.

11. I'm sure they mean semi automatic v/s single shot.
You can tell the semi auto by the more rapid firing sequence.

3. I'm with you
I'm retired now and if I need to spend a few weeks in Florida or Ohio or wherever, I WILL be there. None of this shit about Republican House staffers threatening election officials.

4. You are so right
Saw the protesters in Washington on F9/11 and said, "I SHOULD HAVE GONE! I SHOULD HAVE GONE!"

I will not sit down again!
