Just got a call from McKale Center at UA in Tucson - Michael Moore there |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-11-04 08:50 PM by havocmom
Havocpup reports the place is PACKED and more people coming in. She says the place is rocking. "Lots of really cool tee shirts and seriously pissed off Americans. Wish you were here, mom. Love you."
And that is the latest from U of A, Tucson, where thousands are waiting for Michael Moore to take center court.

3. Am guessing my wayward daughter will be majorly pumped up |
|
and will probably email me when she gets home this evening. She has really been looking forward to this. Several co-workers there too, pretty traditional company, many different ages going to see Moore.
I could hear the crowd in the background when she called a few minutes ago. Sounds like a VERY lively group. Look for news of activism from Tucson in coming days! It is a pretty fiesty town with big, broad based liberal population.
Wish I was there with her. Glad she is out there making a showing for my clan when I am so far away.

6. Before bush* invaded Iraq, there were several good sized marches there |
|
All different ages in attendence. The marches ended at a park on Speedway and there waiting for the marchers were dozens of elderly people, too infirm to do the march, but there waiting at the rally to join in the war protests. She said lots of nuns pushing people in wheel chairs, lots of teenagers, lots of middle aged 'ol hippies' and lots of her 30-something peers. Most of the cars going by the marches gave high signs, thumbs up, honking and waving. She said she could count the ones opposed to the marchers on one hand.
Tucson is a pretty diverse place and I would guess the antics of the junta just haven't played well there.
