Working on winning undecideds -------- Tell them this.
People who are even thinking about voting for Bush are not realizing what consequences his LAST 4 years mean to them.

They hear the term we spent 4 billion for this, 18 billion for that, the deficit is now 465 billion. So what. It doesn't mean anything to them. The term used to be million, now it's billion. It's so common, they have no concept how much money that is.

TRY THIS ON THEM..... Put in simple language.

Bush started out with the largest surplus in history. We had money in the bank. The debt because of Bush is so huge now, a measly increase of 1% in the interest rate will add 80 billion dollars to our national debt. That's how big it is. It's the largest debt in history.

Now horticulturists have not yet been able to grow a money tree. So that money has to come from someplace. Where it's coming from are foreign countries that are loaning the United States money to keep our government running. The countries--in addition to Scottland, Great Britain, India, and approximately 14 others they would never imagine, are Japan and China .

We owe Japan 70 billion, and China 160 BILLION DOLLARS. Whose products do you see lining the shelves when you go into stores? China and Japan. So now, in addition to America paying billions to them just for the interest on that loan, who do you think is going to be in a better position to make trade agreements? What if we say we're going to slap a new tax on goods coming in from China so American products are cheaper than theirs? Or what if we say we are going to give support to Taiwan ? China wants to control Taiwan. They could say if you help Taiwan or raise our prices, we are calling our entire note of 160 billion dollars DUE AND PAYABLE RIGHT NOW ! It could throw us into the next great depression. They could do it any time they want, just like their bank would foreclose on their house if they didn't make the payment. We are at the mercy of every one of those countries. Thanks to Bush.

Now to give a baby language example of how much money that is so they can understand it, in terms of it had to come out of their bank account:

Look at the second hand on your watch and imagine each second as one dollar . A billion seconds ago, it was 1979 !!... 32 years ago in seconds!

That's just for one billion. Now mulitiply that times 200. And that's what your beloved Bush has just donated to Iraq alone , on your behalf. Iraq, which is only the second richest oil producing country in the world. And money taken out of your schools, your homeland security, your healthcare, your road and highway programs, every urgent need we have here in America.

Add that to what I explained about our national debt now. Then add in the enormous tax cuts to his billionaires. If Bush is re-elected, forget just the problems about the war, we are heading straight for disaster. And they will see it in their mortgage payments, food costs, insurance, healthcare, every single thing they have or do.

If they think that is scare tactic, ask them if there hasn't just been 2 straight interest rate increases in a row. In just the last few months !! Maybe they can understand plain english.

2. whaaa?
First, I'm assuming you mean "in stacked $100", not "$1000"...

As far as I can tell via a google search, US paper currency is 0.0043 inches thick.

The number of $100 bills to make up $1 billion, is 1e7.

1e7 bills * (4.3e-3 in / bill) * (1 mile / 63360 in) = 0.67866 miles

Now, if you stack 1e9 $1 bills, then you're pretty close.

Unless I'm completely off on my math.
