Byrna Rae Custer, of North English, died Friday at an Iowa City hospital.

The obituary for the 80-year-old woman, which ran Monday in The Des Moines Register, requested no flowers, no memorials -- just a vote for John Kerry.

The obituary said the family asks that to honor Byrna Rae Custer's memory, you would consider voting for Kerry in the upcoming election.

It said she was deeply concerned that her grandchildren would not be able to enjoy America's great natural beauty, clean air, and water. And she also deplored the Bush administration's lack of vision revealed by an ever-increasing national debt and by a war in Iraq she thought was unjustified.
