Would it be wise for K/E team to propose another debate? |
|
I just got done reading some of the other threads on the debates.
Who says there needs to be just three?
Now that Kerry is in a position of strength and can exploit that position would it be smart for him to publicly ask * for another debate without all the rules and protections he's been hiding behind?
It would be so nice to finally get some answers to "Why did you not want to look into the events of 9/11 by forming a commission?" "Who attended the Vice President's Energy Task Force sessions and why has the White House refused to release these documents"
Even if we don't get a debate that answers these questions, then dang, the campaign can just say he's running and trying to hide!
whaddya think?

Why would it never happen? Please explain.
If he's placed in a position where it looks like he's trying to run and hide...it would happen.

4. Bush would never agree to that |
|
He would just make up some stupid excuse about how he's doing the "hard work" of running the country and doesn't have time for more debates. He knows he's made an ass of himself, there's no way he'd stand up for more abuse.

The thirty two page debate agreement, signed by both campaign managers, specifies in very unambiguous language that neither candidate shall challenge or exhort the other to additional debates.
Three is it. No more. We cannot, like they do, go back on our agreement.

6. do it through surrogates. start a 527 Citizens for More Debates |
|
LOL. Get DU'ers pounding the message. That's the beauty. No way Bush will accept. THen he looks chickenshit and Kerry is absolved of any responsibility when the mainstream cable media are asking Bush team why they won't do more debates?
Best of both worlds....him failing at agreed-upon debates AND looking like a coward for not stepping back into the ring.

5. every poll out there is showing these debates are severely hurting Bush |
|
Why on earth would he want to do another one? I've already heard rumours he's trying to weasel his way out of the third one...

7. You missed the point... |
|
Haven't you heard at all the rallies he is using the
"You can run but you can't hide" line against Kerry, everywhere he goes. His crowd bots repeat it along with him at every stop.
I think Kerry should turn it on him and say, Mr. President if you feel that I am hiding something, I challenge you to another debate. This time with simple Harvard or Yale standard debate rules (whichever favors *'s alma mater) and then wait for the Chimp's response.
Time to use this against them.

Bush has absolutly no reason to accept another debate when he's getting hit hard in the polls by them. It doesn't matter if your points are dead on- he's just not gonna do it :hi:

11. And his not accepting another debate |
|
is good news for us.
What is George running from?
We can then begin the final preparations to send him back to Crawford.

I don't think him not accepting another debate would hurt him in the polls. People don't react to that as much as actually seeing Bush getting bitch slaped live on TV...

14. Stand by for a TERRA ALERT!!! |
|
If he is woefully unprepared, it would not surprise me if Ridge prances out and raises the level to red in Tempe due to 'terrist threat' of some undisclosed nature (cans of suspicious whupass found near debate venue, perhaps?).

First of all, I seriously doubt it would help JK at all. I feel it would make him look greedy and impatient.
All he needs to do is go out Wednesday and do the same thing he's been doing. Being the final debate, perhaps he can let it loose and wallop Idiot King's butt right to hell. End of story, no 4th debate needed.
Besides, with the GOP spin/attack machine in full mode, I think JK and his campaign will need to commit their full energies to taking the White House back.
