NO ONE wants to fight for this war..
Edited on Tue Oct-12-04 01:33 AM by fujiyama
I'm in that age group which is fighting and DYING in this cluster fuck known as "operation Iraqi Freedom".

Well, earlier tonight I asked a bunch of friend what they would do if they were drafted. There were 10 people. Not one of these wanted to fight the war. This wasn't just a Kerry group that too. A few were undecided and originally supported this war (I'm working on these people. I'll do my best to make sure they don't vote for Bush).

This war is a failure. Kerry MUST win. The draft CANNOT be reinstated for wars of choice...that too wars of terrible reasoning and idiotic judgement.

3. The sad reality is chickenhawks consider the military as expendable
Heard it constantly when my husband was in the Army, 1993-1999 active duty.

"well, they signed up!", "they volunteered", "they knew what they were getting into" was a pretty common statement about anything possible - from low pay to housing woes to dangerous missions and family separation.

Any bonuses, like the 2-week a year vacation or days off were met with "this is what my tax dollars pay for?".

It was infuriating, and the only people I ever heard say things like that were staunch Republicans.

Chickenhawks are such curious people, always claiming to support the troops while every action they take and every comment they make goes directly against that. They don't see people in the military as regular human beings, they see them as expendable little suckers for joining in the first place.

2. I thought of a new sign
"If you won't go, why should I?"

Or, "If you won't send your kid, don't send mine"
