Who else is in a Carville-Matalin relationship? |
|
Who here is in a relationship with their political opposite? Has this election affected your relationship at all?

1. That used to be possible. |

My in-laws were opposites. They were married for over sixty years.
I could never do it. Things are much nastier now.
With Carville and Matalin, it is part of their public image.
Not for me!

Dad is a Dem. Mom a repub. It took my Dad and I the past two years to turn her into a woman who is voting for Kerry. I told her today about how I'd laugh so hard at the 'excuses' she would come up with for * every time we tried to point out to her how corrupt he is. She FINALLY started coming around. So much so that I actually talked her into registering as a Democrat! Now she talks back to the TV when they are going on and on about *. She calls him the puppet in his administration. And she even watches The Daily Show. She's 86! Hey O'Lielly, wanna see my slacker 86 year old Mom, a Daily Show viewer? lmao.

Oct. 16 is my anniversary as well...just 36 years behind your folks. May they enjoy many more years, and you as well.
I'm lucky as my wife and I are like right-brain/left brain when it comes to politics. The only change is I used to be more radical than she, now that's changed. Plus joining us this year is my daughter who will be voting Democratic for the first time (and I'm sure for many, many years to come).
Our challenge this year was to work on my sister-in-law's family...old guard Repugnicans...fiscal conservatives. Seemed like an impossible job til around Memorial Day when we got a couple of them to see F911 and then my brother-in-law carefully got them all to feel free about dissing this regime and most will be voting for Kerry and the others will be sitting this one out.

5. Well then, Happy Anniversary a few days early! |
|
And WHOOO HOOOO on working on the sis-in-laws side! Isn't easy, is it? I never thought we would get my Mom to open her eyes. But she did. Her four 80 some odd year old sisters are mad at her for 'turning.' LOL. Yeah, she turned alright. Away from the dark side! :)
