Please explain this to people in NJ, PA, FL, OH, WI, etc. |
|
It's not about "right to life" or anit- abortion. It's about who pays for abortions for poor women.
It's not about a healthcare system run by the government vs private healthcare choice. Rich people will always be able to choose their healthcare. It's about government paying for healthcare and providing healthcare for poor people, especially the working poor.
It's not about taxing the middle-class. It's about NOT taxing the wealthy and corporations.
It's not about safety and security at home and in the world. It's about having free reign to oil and military bases across the world.
It's not about capitalism vs socialism. It's about "welfare for corporations" or "welfare for people."

You gotta finesse the Amerikun people; unfortunately, many do not do nuance.
The Democrats do not use Roe v. Wade as a divisive, wedge issue. Many in this country do not realize that Roe v. Wade does not give women an unfettered right to an abortion. The state has a legal interest beginning in the second trimester. Roe v. Wade is made out to be something it is not by those who cynically use this divisive issue.
The Rethugs have succeeded in making this a hot button social issue with their unconstitutional partial birth abortion legislation and unreasonable parental notification laws and are working to outlaw abortion. Many do not get this, either.
The Republicans are willing to win at any cost, and we must fight them with all we have. We cannot afford four more years of their failed leadership.
The Bush administration is both corrupt and inept--a bad combination. The American people deserve a president who will tell them the truth and work for them. John Kerry is that man.
