Did anyone see the bombing film on CNN??

Taken from a plane, ready to drop a 500 lb bomb and the conversation in the plan centers around civilians walking. One guy says "Should we get them too?" They discuss it, then another soldier says "Yeah, get them too" They drop the bomb and blow up all these people. They were ALL civilians, women, children and men just walking along.

TRULY sickening!! Watch CNN, they'll play it again.

How can ANYONE support this bullshit?

The ONLY reason the tape made it on OUR airwaves is because the UK aired it and the Pentagon wanted to get "their story" out. Aaron Brown said that the media (?)or the Pentagon had the video since June (?), I think. They had NO intentions of putting that on the air, but had to when the UK press did. It sounds exactly like what they did with the Abu Ghraib tapes. They held them, had not intended to air them, but had to come clean when CBS got their hands on them.

9. I watched in horror

When the voice came on and said "Take em out" all I could do was stare at the screen as a group of what looked to be 20 or so people were disintegrated. There was some discussion afterward as to whether the person giving the order to "Take em out" was in a position to know if these individuals were insurgents. One man questioned if insurgents would be running down the middle of a street instead of moving more undercover.

13. Does anyone remember "Falcon Air"?

Before the invasion of Iraq, "Falcon Air" was a DUer whose husband was active duty Air Force, and I think she herself was at the time or had been in the past also active duty AF.

She insisted most vociferously /sic/ that American military personnel NEVER EVER EVER did anything like this and NEVER EVER EVER would.

A few of us disagreed. Vociferously.


I think the operative phrase at this point is, "We told you so," but without any sense of satisfaction.

BROWN: Now, we, this tape actually has been out there for some weeks. It's been seen in large parts of the world. We've had our hands on it for a while. Talk for a moment about the process, I guess, that we went through to vet it and to make the decision to go to air.

MCINTYRE: Well, we, as you said, we got this tape some time ago. It has appeared to raise some questions about who was on the tape and how the pilot would have known who he was striking.

We got some initial indication that it was possibly a legitimate strike back in April, but we didn't have the full details on what had happened. It wasn't until British television aired the tape and suggested that this was a massacre of civilians that the U.S. military came forward with additional documentation and details to give their side of the story, that they believe that this was, as a result of action that took place after a fire strike.

So, after a considerable number of days of checking and rechecking, we're pretty confident that we've gotten the best information we can. But even then, these kinds of incidents are always inconclusive. It's always a chance that somebody made a mistake, that there were innocent civilians mixed in among the legitimate targets, or that somebody's even covering up something.

But at this point, all the evidence suggests that it was, in fact, as the U.S. describes it, a legitimate military strike. And in the absence of evidence to the contrary, we really can't draw any other conclusion.

BROWN: I agree with that. It, can you just in 15 seconds, do you have any idea how this tape got out?

MCINTYRE: Most likely scenario, a pilot saved it because it was, quote, "cool video," gave it to somebody, gave it to somebody, showed up on the Internet. That's sort of how it gets out.
