Could Michael Moore give permission for networks to air F9/11? |
|
I mean, how much control does he have over the rights to let it air?
I'm not talking about any stations actually airing it, but I remember that it was being pressured to not hit the theatres AT ALL, and MM got it going. I think it was ABC/Disney or something like that.
Anyway, if MM chose to have it hit the airwaves (like what Sinclair is doing), then could he actually give the commanding permission to do so? I remember the "distributor" was backing away from it like it was Kryptonite until pressure hit them. Whether that's true or not, doesn't Moore have a say-so on when it could be played on TV?

1. There will be a $9 package on pay per view with F911 - but he can not |
|
give it away as TV rights are owned by a Disney company.

4. I got a better idea..... |
|
Announce that 50% of the proceeds from the sale of the DVD will go to families of the 1000+ that have died in vain.
Make that announcement and you'll have a win-win scenario like you've never witnessed...

5. It would kill his Oscar chances.... |
|
...and the distributors wouldn't let him.
This has been suggested and discussed many times in the last few days.
"Going Upriver" would be a more appropriate suggestion, anyway. But, that's almost as unlikely.

6. Moore has already taken the film out of Oscar contention for |
|
best documentary so it could be broadcast, if necessary. No such limitations are in place for "Best Picture" Oscar.
