I'm Cold: Flame Me.
I know it's heresy to say it, but I think bush may well win. The electorate wants to fire him, but they're still not sold on Kerry. Yeah, he's done a heroic job the last few weeks, and been splendid in the debates, but I don't think it's enough to counter the rotten stuff thrown at him. The Sinclair thing, the twit boat liars, intimidation of voters, and whatever else they'll come up with in the last couple of weeks. To tell the truth, what I'm really afraid of is that it won't be that close, that bush will win with say, 53% of the vote. Look at what the chimp did when he was appointed and had no mandate. Now imagine him with one. So go ahead. Toast me to a fare-thee-well.

3. I fear what the Repukes may try to pull, too
but I have to imagine the Kerry people are ready for anything. I'm a bit more optimistic - cautiously so.

4. KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE! In. A. Landslide.
IN A LANDSLIDE, or, Confidence Has Its Place

KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE
KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE

I'd be the last person to suggest that the election is in the bag and we can just sit back and wait for Bush to be crushed. There's a great deal of work that must be done.

But, why NOT approach the closing weeks with a unified confidence?

Whenever I hear a jittery Dem concerned about 'polls' I just say: KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE.

I could go into an extended explanation of 20th century polling methodology in a 21st century election. I could quote statistics on new and un-pollled voters. I could point out that worrying about a NATIONAL poll is utterly pointless.

But, I just say: KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE. Enough said.

And, as far as kool-ade drinkers go? You can't change a 'mind' that won't engage. Screw 'em! Project unshakable confidence. KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE. Let them sputter. As far as I'm concerned, a bush win is unworthy of consideration. KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE. Go away. The best they've got is stealing yard signs and bush is out preaching to his so-called 'base' while real conservatives are attacking. KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE.

As I say above, it doesn't mean sitting back and waiting. It does mean going into the final weeks with utter confidence that a MASSIVE TURNOUT will elect Kerry and send the chimp whimpering back to his 'ranch' an even bigger, and more miserable failure than his Poppy.

5. If shrubbie "wins" it won't be a real win
but voter intimidation, BBV, or some manufactured terra event. More than 50% of your fellow citizens voted for Gore last time. Do you really think many of them have converted to Bush babies? And I have a lot of faith in all the new voter registrations.

14. That is why we need people to volonteer to work on Nov 2
To phone bank, to poll sit and help drive people to the polls. What ever it takes.
Contact a local Democratic office, see what you can do to help prevent it from happening.
This is a great place to cool off but sitting here in the DU will not make it happen.

16. I'm working on two
important local campaigns. My state's so blue it's almost black, so I think it more important to concentrate on local stuff. Also, it's a better idea to ask people what they're doing instead of assuming you know whether or not they're politically active. Just a suggestion.

7. Not going to Happen
It's being reported that 10 million new voter registered. This kind of deluge is because someone has really pissed people off and they want to act. That man is George W. Bush. Have faith and stop watching cable news, this election is ours to take and for ever person that says we can't win or Shrub in a landslide they are tempting potential voters to stay home. Keep positive and if you think it's going poorly then by all means get involved.Go to JohnKerry.com and they will direct you to where help is needed near you. 20 days and counting till Shrubs concession speech, it will replace Janet Jacksons boob as the most Tivoed moment.

17. FREEPER! TRAITOR! LURKER! DISRUPTOR!
There, I flamed you. I'm pretty optimistic myself, although cautiously so. Kerry is polling much better than Gore was at this point, and we all know who got more votes last time. My prediction is that Kerry will win and by a comfortable margin. I predict

52% Kerry
47% Bush
1% Nader and other candidates.

But we'll have to wait and see. I wish I could be sure, and I'm not. Who knows what those Repuke slime will try and pull?
