Here's your chance to reveal YOUR candidate's minority appointments.
Lots of threads tonight on Al Sharpton attacking Howard Dean not appointing any minorities to the 6 cabinet positions he had to fill as Gov of Vermont. And, lots of piling on from the anti-Dean crowd.

So, turnabout being fair play, here's YOUR chance to give the names of the SENIOR-LEVEL minority staffers employed by YOUR candidate. You can post the names from their Congressional staffs or their campaign staffs, but in the spirit of Sharpton's attack, you must limit it to senior level positions, since Sharpton didn't seem to accept Dean's answer that he had minorities working on his non-cabinet-level staff in Vermont.

We can start with the position of campaign manager for the seven white Dem candidates.

Have fun (and maybe I'll learn something I didn't know in the process).

1. 9 hours later and not a single response to this thread!

C'mon, anti-Dean types. It's your chance to show how your candidate is different than Dean!

BTW - one DUer did respond to a similar question I posed in another thread. He pointed out that John Edwards' staff is extremely well represented by minorities in key positions. I thank him for that response - I learned something.

3. Picture/female campaign staff
I have no idea who all is on Kerry's Senate staff and would have no idea how to find out. Here's the women in his campaign staff, all shapes and colors.

Harold Ford, Jr. is a campaign co-chair, Cisneros is on the National Steering Committee. See who else I guess.

4. Here's Edwards' record
Campaign Senior Staff:
National Campaign Co-Chair, National Treasurer, Deputy Campaign Manager, three regional directors and several state directors are African American. Edwards' Political Director and Deputy Press Secretary are Hispanic.

Senate Staff:
Chief of Staff, Chief Counsel, Scheduler, and two District Directors are African American. In fact, Edwards is the FIRST U.S. Senator in history to appoint an African American female Chief of Staff.

Not bad, eh?

5. Not bad at all, especially if your support depends on the issue
Sharpton raised with Dean.

14. How did I just "got got?"
My initial post that started this thread mentioned Edwards' staff and its inclusion of minorities. Post #4 provided the details.

Now that we've got Edwards' and Kerry covered, let's move on to the others.

11. Al didn't start this thread.
StopBush did and he stated in the OP Senior Campaign Staff does count. Dennis' Campaign manager is a woman. Have not looked into the ehtnicity of any of his staff, congressional or campaign.

17. In a Senate Staff, the senior staff is comparable to a cabinet
and generally consists of the Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, Chief Counsel, Press Secretary, State Director, and District Directors. Interesting that minorities comprise a significant number of Edwards' senior staff, isn't it?

16. I'd just like to point out
That in the debate, when Dean mentioned he had minorities on his campaign staff and in his governor's office, Shaprton said that wasn't good enough. He specifically wanted to know how many minorities Dean had appointed to his CABINET. So I think that is the standard we should be holding all the other candidates to, if this is really such an important issue to those who are criticizing Dean.

19. Then Edwards is clearly a cut above Dean in this respect.
Or, several cuts above.
