Can't use the word lier-Rule of House of Commons???

I just hear this from some guy by the name of Larry Climons(sp) on Inside Politics. There were 2 guests and they played some Bush/Kerry footage and someone said "Why didn't he just call him a lier?" This Larry guy said It's because of an old rule of the House of Commons that prevent the use of the word LIER.

I know many of our laws are based on the old British Common Law, but I found that comment interesting. If true, now we know why Kerry always dances around that word we all want him to use!!!

4. Use the F word, you're sent to the Tower of London to get axed, literally!

LOL! That reminds me in Oct 1992 I was in London and took a tour of the Tower. One of the tour guides was describing in very theatrical terms about how when people were axed there they would pay the executioner gold pieces in order to do a swift painless job on them.

He wrapped up his little speech by saying "It was a form of medieval tipping...of course nowadays we might refer to it as...severance pay..."

I thought that was the funniest thing I ever heard! Ah, I love the Brits...
