You just have to laugh - got a "Vote for Bush" call
Normally, when I hear a call on my answering machine and it's nobody I know, or they don't identify themselves as something I want to deal with, I press the delete button (I have a digital answering machine).

Not so this afternoon. I did wait until the "Bush is God" portion, but I thought the person was hilarious.

Here is the essence:

The caller was "the wife of XXX, the pilot of American Airlines flight whatever" on 9/11.

Yadda, yadda, yadda . . .

"George Bush is keeping our country safer here and abroad" DELETE.

Well, lady, if George W. Bush was doing his job in August 2001, your husband and everybody else on the plane that slammed into the Pentagon might just still be alive right now, barring any "normal" deaths like accidents or natural causes.

I don't think he was doing such a great job, do you? Oh, and how would the .01 percent successful Missile Defense system have helped keep your husband alive?

1. I wish a Bushbot would call me
I'd love to "chat" with them and give them a BIG earful!

3. Naw, this was one of those recorded messages
not a live "person". Note, I emphasize "person" as the questionable word, not live.

I wonder how much she got to make these phone calls?

2. So was she FOR the 9/11 commission or Against it? Her 'man' Bush
didn't want the truth to come out and how come her 'man' Bush didn't go under oath? How come Bush allowed the Bin Laden family to fly out of the United States on 9/13? Her husband death was because of Bush's negligence!

4. Be happy
You just wasted a tiny little bit of money from Bush's campaign coffers.

6. The RNC sent me a letter asking for money
which is really odd, since I'm a registered Dem and have never voted for a Republican. So I took the return envelope and filled it with rocks. Must of cost 'em at least a dollar in postage.

7. I got one of those too
Laugh, I thought I'd die. Included a push poll that was of "vital importance." Loved the questions.

Do you agree that John Kerry will raise your taxes, or somesuch. Push, push, push. I'm glad they wasted postage on me.

9. I got that one too! Where do you live?
They must be targeting Democrats. I was hoping they'd give a phone number, I really wanted to call them back and tell them to keep their trash off my answering machine.

14. I got push polled by the Republican candidate for the state Senate
Republican party is pouring obscene amounts of money into local races in an effort to drive up overall Republican turnout.

Strange that I got the call because both my husband and I are lifelong Dems, and always vote in Dem primaries.

I personally know the Dem candidate they were trying to smear, and know how much he has done for education, for seniors, and for uninsured kids. So I played with the guy on the phone for more than 5 minutes. My son and husband were laughing their butts off in the background, as I asked the guy to repeat everything he said at least twice. I think the guy finally figured out that I was toying with him because he hung up on me, when I suggested that our state imitate Bush and simply pass debt on to our children and grandchildren,

Oh well, I figure he was able to make a few less calls by talking so long to me.
