Bill Needs to get Campaigning if He really believes the Nation's at risk

Story says Bill is giving phone advice and will record ads.
But, the longer he waits to get onto the campaign trail, the less
the impact. He doesn't need to get too active, but it would be great for him to appear on stage with a few words. He needs to take an act of faith for the sake of the nation.

3. I am sure he is more eager than anyone
to be out there.

But the surgery he had is very serious. As soon as his Dr.s OK him for the trail, he will be on the trail.

Campaigning is tough work...just all the travel involved. We will see him when it is advisable.

4. Bless him for doing what he IS doing
Big Dog needs to do what will keep Big Dog healthy.

No, Kerry needs to win on his own. The advice and staff is appreciated, but this is Kerry's fight. And, he is winning. So I feel no need to pressure Bill to do anything he's not up for.

Saw a recent picture last week. He's so skinny!!

10. It's common for it to be 2 to 3 months...
...before you can even go back to work.

And that's a regular job, not campaigning.

8. Wrong on all counts
The closer he waits to the election to do something, the more dramatic it becomes. If he's out there now, it has less impact. Period.

Two, the man had his chest cracked open. If he can't or doesn't want to campaign, that's good enough for me.

9. You are aware he just had a quad bypass?
3 months is the common action before you can go back to work.

Even then you have cardio therapy and you have to not overwork yourself.

13. We are now past estimated recovery 4 wks. Clinton wants to get out
Edited on Tue Oct-12-04 05:06 PM by WiseMen
and he should as soon as he gets Doc. clearance. But this is
subjective.

I think it will be a great balm to Bill to get out into the
sunshine of this great campaign and it would be
good for the Party. This is not just Kerry v Bush. This is
Dem v Repub, Truth v Fiction, Good v Evil.

Hillary's reluctance to give OK (read story) risks a negative
view of her motives.

15. It could be great "balm" for him or.....
It could kill him. I don't particularly care for you repeating RW talking points about Hilary. By doing so, you seem to be saying she's not doing it out of concern for her husband, but for her presidential aspirations. The RWers have been accusing Hilary of sabotaging Kerry and secretly rooting for him to lose. Nice to see their talking points are working and HERE of all places.

14. Do you have any idea how it feels to wear a seatbelt for the first
six weeks after they split your chest open? I do! Bill Clinton will not get his stitches out for a month after the bypass! He will not be able to drive a car or pick up anything heavy(15 or 20 pounds hurts like you wouldn't believe)for a while yet! The leg that they took the veins out of will swell up like a balloon if he is up on it for an hour or two! The cuts on his leg will burn like fire for months after the bypass, when his leg swells up! It will hurt the man to cough, or to even laugh hard for another month! The sac around the heart , the pericardium, becomes inflamed if you over do and you wouldn't believe how it hurts you!(Pericarditis) In short Bill Clinton is not feeling well yet! Not anywhere near 100%!

When Bill Clinton feels like getting out of the house he will! Nobody but Bill Clinton will know when that time comes! I'll bet he's just as tired as I was of staying at home, but when you reach for something, or pick up something, or even move the wrong way and that bone in the middle of the chest pops, it hurts like you wouldn't believe!

16. I read on the NY Times
that he is going to make a radio ad, and also a phone message that we will hopefully all get!

I also read that people who have seen him say he is pale and his recovry is going slowly. Let's give him a break. I'm sure he will do all he physically can.

17. I cant even BELIEVE Im reading this...
My father had a 'simple' angioplasty and was out of commission for 3 weeks. The President had a QUADRUPLE BYPASS. Good God, let the man recover! He can film ads sitting in a chair in his home IF he feels up to it..

21. RIGHT!!!!!!!!!
He will be able to play his sax and do his stage moves by then! A bypass is not a walk in the park like the doctors advertise it! Some people heal much faster than others! The fact that Mr. Clinton had no heart tissue damage from a heart attack is a big plus for his speedy recovery! You might be able to coax him out with a covert Big-Mac and FRENCH fries in a week or two!
