1. It took me about 2 seconds to figure out
that was not a seem or any type of suit feature. Any man who has knows any fairly significant amount about men's clothing could tell you that.

What a joke.

4. yeh, i'm so sick of all these "duers"
saying we're conspiracy theorists.

-bush wasn't wirelessly mic'ed
-bush wasn't IFB'ed
-his campaign has said he wasn't wearing a jacket
-that he wasn't wearing a brace

they say it's a fucking SEAM people!

does that look like a SEAM to YOU?!?

remember, we weren't supposed to get behind the shoulder shots during the debates.

remember, they probably weren't expecting bush to be cowered over so much to emphasize the receiver.

this isn't brain science people.

yes, your government IS corrupt.

ESPECIALLY this administration.

7. They really think we're stupid
Remember the attacks on the CBS documents claimed they couldn't have been produced on an early '70s era typewriter. As if there weren't tens of thousands of people who used those machines who could tell in an instant whether or not the type on the documents was consistent with the technology of the day. That doesn't mean the documents weren't fakes, but they certainly weren't just cobbled together in Word...

...and that's no seam.

The scary thing is so many people are that stupid.

10. I agree he was wired, all the good it did him, but my question
is why wouldn't Kerry call him out on it. During the 90 minute debate, Kerry must have seen this thing, and he could have exposed Bush as the cheat he is right on live television. Those opportunities don't come along every day. I can't imagine how that would have made Kerry look bad - it would have made him look like he's on top of things.

8. Bush* using an Inductive loop type IFB unit would easily explain.......
.....the little voice prompting him that was picked up by microphones at previous events. He tends to lean over on the podium which would place the inductive loop in close enough proximity to the microphone voice coils to couple with them.

I'm assuming you have some broadcast experience newsguyatl. Next time you see the video of those appearances where his prompts were picked up, note the mic's on the podium. They look like Shure SM 57 dynamic mic's with windscreens.

Look at the mic's he uses at the debates, they appear to be condenser mic's. It seems someone figured out what the problem was and changed to mic's with a smaller coil to minimize the chances of stray inductive pickup. :)

6. I totally buy that the guy needs to be wired
and that he probably is, my problem is why is that thing up so high on his back? The waistband of his pants at the back would give the most comfort, room, and the drape of jacket would hide it better - plus isn't that NORMALLY where you put those mic things?

11. "isn't that NORMALLY where you put those mic things?"
That depends.

If you are just sitting reading news then you normally place the unit on someone's belt toward the side or rear.

When doing stage work and the actor is moving around the stage we tend to hide the receiver (or transmitter if they're wired with an FM wireless mic) on the back right between the shoulder blades to conceal it.

If you reach out forward with both arms or lean over, all bets are off. Nothing is going to hide it then. :(

9. Flip-flopping early and often
I'd like to brag that I was among the first to notice the bulge. If you check the debate thread, I have a post where I say something like "What the hell is that under Bush's coat!!" But nobody replied, so I figured "EHnt. Bad tailoring."

Then starts all the wire talk and I'm thinking maybe there WAS something under there. And, I see this post with lots of screen caps from the debate. In some of them, it looks like the man's got a freaking BRICK under there. (No wonder he was hunched over.) But in one of the last in the sequence, his back appears smooth. Moreover, his coat seems to be fitted on him, not draping so as to not reveal his contours.

Anyway, if someone was feeding him lines for that debate, I hope the same guy is doing it tomorrow night, and Bush gets into a hussy fit with him right there on stage as everyone else watches in a combination of horror and comic disbelief.

13. I don't think it's going away
someone posted that Barbara Walters talked about this on "the View" this morning. She actually stood up and displayed the prompting device she and the other hosts wear to receive instructions from their producer. Apparently, the device was about the same size and shape as "the bulge". The View's hosts (except the Bushbot) were obviously suspicious that he WAS wired. It's getting into the mainstream....
