Report from downtown Tempe.

We just got back from lunch at a brew pub in downtown Tempe. We spent the morning and early afternoon at the Desert Botanical Gardens and decided to head to Tempe to check out the situation heading into tomorrow night.

We were decked out in our Kerry gear and the host told us he was thinking about heading to the rally after the debate. Our server told us she worked last night and tomorrow night, otherwise she'd be going to the rally. She told us while working last night she waited on a table where one guy was buying rounds for all the other people at the table. She asked what was up and whether he'd just won the lottery. He told her he had just come back from Iraq. She told him she was glad he got back safely. He thanked her and told her if she cared at all about the troops to please vote for Kerry.

I'm hoping to make it; I have some VIP tickets for the rally but I'm not sure I can make it (hubby doesn't want to go and I can't drive after dark).
