John Kerry did great on CNN and FOX
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 09:09 AM by JI7
senator Kerry was just on cnn and fox news live. he did the fox interview right after cnn and did a great job on both. both wanted to talk polls but kerry did a great job of trying to stay on the issues. he was standing out in the cold but didn't seem to bothered by it. and he seemed ready for another day of campaigning.

(the dumb woman on fox also mentioned general clark but right after mentioning him she suggested to kerry that he(kerry) was the only one with battlefield experience and kerry corrected her saying clark was on the battlefield and seriously wounded. also said he has a lot of respect for clark. he always refers to him as general clark, i wonder if that's from his time in the military)

2. It will always be "General Clark."

There is no such thing as ex-General or former General. Once you get those stars, the title remains for life... like "President."

News Hairdos are either ignorant or following BFEE orders to disrespect General Clark.

John Kerry will always show respect for everyone who has served our country. He's a class act and a half!

3. i don't mean he shouldn't be "general" anymore
what i mean is that sometimes he refers to others by their first name. such as call edwards, john, or say howard, dennis, carol, etc. but when it comes to clark he always says "general". at least from what i remember, but clark calls him just "john"

4. well, it is inappropriate to call a General by his first name
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 09:59 AM by OhioStateProgressive
and it wuold be a bit of a lefthanded insult for a Clark to call Kerry 'Lt.', after Kerry calls him "General", usually the "biggest" title you obtain is the one you are referred by, and "Senator" is a much more prestigious title than that of Lieutenant

5. well, he calls him "john"
the times i have seen clark refer to senator kerry it was usually just as "john" and not "senator". that's what i mean. why doesn't kerry call him "wesley or wes" ? is it a military thing ?

8. talked about
he talked about the iowa legislature endorsements he is getting. talked about the republican medicare bill and how it's ripping off people. on cnn he was asked whether the democratic candidates infighting will hurt them and he said said something about how they will be ok and went on to talk about what he is doing campaigning himself. i liked how he changed the direction of stupid questions like that to talk about what he is doing on the campaign trail. he talked about meeting people all over iowa in different places and how much he enjoys it. both of the interviews were very good and kerry looked really good and excited to start the day campaigning some more. he didn't mention the endorsement of the first lady of iowa though, probably because it came after both interviews were over. i myself didn't read the news of it until after the interviews.
