A way to get to Bush* is the debate:
When the issue of taxes comes up, Kerry should say something like:

"The pResident's father, the former president Bush, realized in spite of his "No new taxes" pledge that the government couldn't keep running up such huge debts. He knew the pledge was an error and the debt was bad. The pRresident's father then signed a tax increase necessary to stabilize the economy. That action helped set the stage for the growth we saw in the late 1990s."

"Contrast that with this pResident. He has run up more debt than any other president in history. And it will only get worse, but he doesn't care. The pResident's father did the right thing. I will also do the right thing by returning the tax rate of those making over $200,000 a year to the 1999 level."

This sort of statement accomplishes several things: first, it praises Bush*s father, which will play well with the middle; second, it attacks Chimpy; third, it will drive Chimpy nuts to be compared to his old man--Oedipus Rocks!; and fourth, Kerry gets a Repug president as a model for his tax plan (instead of a Democrat).

Bush* will lose it after this.

1. that's SUCH a great idea, and the bits about getting his daddy goat
are primo, cause even the media hoes admitted that one of his worst moments in the first debate was when he referenced his daddy

I was trying to figure out a good way to bring 41 into the equation, and I can't think of a better one than that, cause it's organic to the discussion....PERFECT!

now, how about some other ways to bring his father in: comparing how some of his agencies actually did their job (can't think of any), instead of acting in complete divergence to the reason for their establishment, ala the FCC, the EPA, FERC, etc.

I want to see him pop his fricking CORK!

2. It's a great idea but...
I can just see the Republican's saying.. see he needs to raise taxes in order for his plan to work. I'm sure George 1 said a lot of other things that Kerry could bring up that doesn't include any phrases about raising taxes.

3. Raising taxes on the top 1% is a major Kerry theme.
He already talked about it in the 2nd debate and he will talk about it tomorrow too. He has to--it is central to his economic plan. And using Bush I as a precedent is the BEST way to do it.

Did you watch the 2nd debate?

6. that's not really the point....this thing is going to be almost completely
about STYLE....that's what the MEDIA HOES want it to be....they're too lazy to find out what lies are being told, or try to interpret the effects of said policies might be

it's all horserace, and attendant BS like that

the POINT of this is for Kerry to do as much as he can to make the idiot prince become UNHINGED

mentioning taxes is just a means to an end

I think it's incumbent on Kerry...maybe US, if any Kerryites are paying attention.....to figure out as many ways to do this as possible

I think dumbo has already done this, but the media just won't do to him what they did to Gore, so Kerry and surrogates NEED to push this furious/crazy meme to the hilt

and, of course, NEITHER is doing it

it's beyond frustrating!

In fact, didn't he get so mad in another debate -- first one, when Kerry talked about Bush's dad refused to go into Baghdad? Woohoo!

10. Kerry could say something about "read my lips"
"I'm not going to stand here and say 'read my lips' because that would be pandering."
