Imus is supporting Kerry?
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 07:47 AM by jchild
I am home with my back today--herniated disks, but that's a topic for the lounge.

Anyway, Imus is on, and he just told Republican congresscritter JD Hayworth to quit whipping on "my guy" when Hayworth was dissing Kerry on the stem-cell topic.

So, is it safe to say that Imus is supporting Kerry? Anyone know? (I know that lots of you don't care for Imus--I don't either--but it's nice to hear a voice of support for Kerry on a morning show.)

3. He and Stern are delivering voters to us.
They're blowhards, but at least this time they're our blowhards.

4. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Imus is a two-faced liar! I will never, ever believe he will pull that lever for Kerry. He says his guy or his candidate before he is getting ready to cut Kerry down. With friends (or supporters) like Imus you don't need enemies!

Earlier, he called Kerry a big phony, but he still supports him? I don't know if we need cheerleaders like him.

2. Damn! Imus is whooping up on Hayworth...
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 07:50 AM by jchild
On the topic of Iraq, Imus said something about it being unrealistic to think that a Democracy can be created in Iraq.

Hayworth responded that one had been created in Afghanistan, to which Imus laughed. Hayworth said, "They just got through voting in Afghanistan/" Imus said, "Yeah, and they voted in Florida, too."

Hayworth said, "I just got back from Florida, where they are working hard, preparing for this election." Imus chuckled, "I bet they are."

14. How did Hayworth react? Did he take offense to the "my guy" comment?
Did he even pick up on it? Was he spouting platitudes, which is what usually happens when someone's cornered and doesn't want to admit it.

15. Imus interviewing Kerry on September 15th.
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6009011/

IMUS:  You know what would've been funny -- I mean, I don't know whether you'd think it would've been funny or not -- but if he'd've... what's the matter with your throat?

KERRY:  I'm doing great, actually.

IMUS:  Well, why are you coughing and hacking then?

KERRY:  Well, because I'm imitating you in the morning.

(LAUGHTER)

IMUS:  Wouldn't it have been funny if he'd've showed up for that speech yesterday, that National Guard speech— the president went up there and gave that dopey salute like you did and said, "Reporting for duty, finally"?

(LAUGHTER)

KERRY:  Yes, actually it would have been funny.

IMUS:  Or just not shown up at all, that would actually have been more amusing. But those guys don't have a sense of humor.
