"kerry is a wimp"

this was said to ms. sniffa Last night by someone who i never wouLd have guessed, supported bush (it is sooooo against her best interests, save her pro-Life stance).

anyhow, i find it humerous/dispicabLe to hear such a fauLty description of kerry. i've been hearing the word "wimp" thrown around since bush's "muLLigan" Last week. where does this come from? how can someone just caLL someone a wimp without any reason?

i'm sick of these phoney charicacatures: kerry is a wimp, bush is a cowboy.

if i were present during this exchange i most LikeLy wouLd have ripped into her (and hopefuLLy bring her to tears).

i know there are obvious exampLes to compare the two (7 minutes on 9/11; kerry in nam bush awoL; kerry saving that senator's Life whiLe the other members of congress stood around panicking; bush not admitting mistakes; bush not taking questions) but do any of you have any suggestions for a counter next time i may be present? or shouLd i just reLease my anger on them? :P

Smirky falling off Segway, horrid facial scrapes from falling off bike, more facial scrapes from choking on a snackfood item, cheerleader pictures.

Then show her JK windsurfing, playing REAL hockey, snowboarding, wearing an officer's Navy uniform in the middle of Vietnam.

But of course she'll just say she meant "mental toughness."

2. The obvious one: Kerry volunteered for COMBAT DUTY.

We still don't know what Bush did while he was supposed to be serving in his champagne unit of the TANG.

She'll lose the false impression that's been fed to her by the rightwing.

Even friends of mine on the left have said yes, they dislike bush and he's lied and Kerry sounds good, but will he have the guts to defend us.
Needless to say I straighten them out pretty quick! It's amazing how pervasive and subliminal the rightwing attack on John Kerry has been.
