After watching Frontline I'm not sure they'll even let him live...
I was reminded last night of how much they love war. How much all war is "right". How they believe you can never be "anti-war" and be american...to them. Call me a tin-foil-hatter if you wish. I think Kerry has a good chance to win but hear me now. The hatred they will have for JK and THK will make the Clinton stuff look like a schoolyard spat. "At least Clinton was a southern boy with a blond wife" they will say. Kerry is from Massachusettes. Got some education in europe. Teresa is a "ferner". ANd of course Kerry's VVAW stuff. I have doubts he'll survive his first term.

1. We'll see
I'd rather see them hate JK in the White house than love * there.

3. Edwards is a perfectly fit Veep.
I would suggest that anyone who is thinking along those lines do some very quick rethinking.

Especially if we retake the House.

5. The fact that Kerry even wants the job
makes me admire him even more. He wil have to clean up bush's BIG mess and deal with the crap the RW nuts want to throw at him.

I feel that Kerry may have the smarts and diplomacy to actually be a uniter and not a divider. He will start the healing process this country needs.

7. Ain't that the truth...on all levels
It's a tall order...Kerry is a brave and capable man.

The world is toast if the idiots prevail.

6. It's going to be OUR responsibility to fight
We must not stop when we get Kerry into the White House. We have to keep fighting to keep the media in line and help deflect attacks from the RW. We were complacent during the Clinton years and we allowed the media to smear Dems and sway public opinion. Granted, Clinton did a very stupid thing getting a blow job. But we let the media blow (no pun intended) that out of proportion. We let the media ignore the good things Clinton did and harp on the bad. We let the right wing bury us because we didn't fight back hard enough.

And don't even get me started with Gore. I'll admit that I believed the "I invented the internet" bullshit until I read the truth about what he said. I allowed myself to get discouraged about his "sighs" during the debate. I didn't take to the streets when I knew that election was a total scam.

Well, no more.

I'm not going to be a blind devotee of Kerry. If he fucks up I'm going to say so, believe me. But if the media starts smearing him with falsehoods or blowing his mistakes out of proportion, if the RW is allowed to take their shots and spread their lies, you better believe that I'm going to attack back. We cannot yield an inch to the RW, we've all seen what they can do. No lie is too outrageous, no manipulation too devious.

We can celebrate a Kerry win in a few weeks (although I personally won't really start celebrating until Bush actually vacates in January), but our work doesn't stop there. We have to be committed to change in the country if we truly want to see it happen.
