Great answer to one of my e-mails to a local advertiser re Sinclair

Thank you for contacting us, and for your observation and suggestions.
Although I compliment you on the in depth research into various media
agencies political affiliations, we were just focused on trying to expend a
limited advertising resource to convey our message to the largest percentage
of our home state's population base. Because we are focused on making the
best product we can, and serve a wide variety of customers, we try to remain
neutral on all issues, and would not support or boycott based on political
affiliation. We are just looking for the best coverage and value. I applaud
your in depth review process and strong political beliefs, and assure you
that we made our decision based solely on coverage and cost, and did not do
any research into the station's political policies. That you feel this
decision will cost us business is unfortunate for our company, however so is
the fact that television advertising is so expensive, and audiences are
divided into a couple of very specific channels. Our choices are truly
limited. I can't even begin to imagine what would be uncovered if we looked
into cable advertising based on your findings with WGME. Anyway, due to cost
(not the issues you have raised) we will not be advertising on WGME in the

Why does that not surprise me? Sounds like typical repub crap to me. Screw the little guy, lets have mega million dollar corporations only. Anyway, for whatever reason, it's good to hear that they are pulling their advertising. And good for Rich and his wife for supporting Kerry. That sucking swirling sound you hear is the sound of Sinclair going down the drain.
