In my US History class we were talking about the Military-Industrial Complex and what the positives and negatives are.

I said that it is expensive, and immediately after I did, this freeper dude shouts out (without raising his hand) going all "That's not true! It's not expensive! You know, all these democrats and liberals and stuff like to scream about Halliburton and stuff but SOMEONE has to make the things for the military!"

And so I asked if I could respond, and said "There are definite negatives when you outsource all your best military technology to private industry. They can charge a price for the product FAR higher than what it's worth, and they are your only supplier of the product, you have no choice but to buy at their insanely high price, I don't see how that makes it any cheaper."

and so, the FREEPER asshole responds all "NO! NO! THAT'S NOT TRUE! COMPETITION IS GOOD FOR PRICE! IT'S CHEAPER BECAUSE YOU HAVE SIX COMPANIES INSTEAD OF ONE SO THE GOVERNMENT DOESN'T HAVE TO CHOOSE THE HIGHEST PRICE! SPREADING DEMOCRACY ISN'T CHEAP!"

so I basically responded that, "Yea, that works if you operate LOGICALLY, which the government never does. Are you even taking into consideration problems with CORRUPTION, that former employees of the arms industries always seem to find their way into the government and go with the company charging the HIGHEST price. *cough*CHENEY*cough."

After that though, the FREEPER IDIOT just started screaming and shouting about god knows what, trying to shout me down, while I was talking in a calm normal voice.

Have I mentioned yet today how much I hate these people?

in a college class no one should be allowed to shout anyone down.

But I'd recommend against hating freepers. It makes them much angrier to pity them.
