All indexes are down, & the DOW is -104, and below 10,000! Glad I took heed and transferred everything to bonds when bush was annointed.

S&P 500 is up for the year. It went up A LOT last year. (I hate DJ30 - it is just a meaningless anachronism)

And the trend has been down for awhile. The bad economic policies of this administration were bound to be reflected in the markets eventually. Better now than after the election.

The steadiness in the Dow is the one economic success of the Bush gang's economic policy of wealth transfer to the rich. Nobody has made any appreciable money for four years, but nobody's lost everything, either.
This is a great comfort to the people who think the Great Depression was 100% caused by the stock market crash, like war neverending is a great comfort to those who think it was 100% cured by WWII.
