Kerry should just say he got an honorable discharge & he's tired of attack
on those who served and risked their lives in Vietnam. He should answer with the honorable discharge statement and accuse them of attacking servicemen for policitical gains. Today's servicemen could one day be attacked by a future Bush and it's time to stop the defaming of servicemen. An honorable discharge is an honorable discharge.

1. Well, Boosh got an honorable discharge, too
so he would just try to claim Kerry was behind all of the scrutiny of his national guard records.

4. Kerry already said re: Bush's honorable discharge that
it has no bearing on how one served, so he would now never offer it as proof of anything re: himself.

3. Agreed, Kerry should stay on-message.
Bush lives in a fantasy world of spin. He can't see the problems in Iraq or at home so how can he fix them?

6. Stop smearing the United States Navy for political gain
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 04:04 PM by undercover_brother
The US Navy awarded John Kerry decorations for valorous actions in combat. If the Swiftees feel that the United States Navy is awarding Purple Hearts to undeserving veterans for undeserving actions while serving in combat zones then they need to lobby Congress for change to the requirements to receive awards. Perhaps they could also lobby for the change to be retroactive, this way they could remove decorations from veterans records. This would include John Kerry and perhaps right the wrong they feel is being done through these decorations of sailors, soldiers, airmen, and marines.

8. Not to mention that the Navy reviewed his medals and found them legit
I can't even begin to express how angry these people make this daughter of a Navy veteran.

7. He DID get an Hon Dis when he gave up his commission in 1978.
Poor freeping rightwingnuts tho are SO STOOPID they don't know that OFFICERS KEEP their commissions UNTIL THEY RESIGN THEIR COMMISSION, which obviously DOES NOT have to be the same date as their ETS;

AN OFFICER IS AN OFFICER EVEN IF HE'S A CIVILIAN, UNTIL THE OFFICER RESIGNS HIS COMMISSION.

They also don't know that only a president can sign an officer's discharge papers, and it's the president who happens to be in office at the time the officer RESIGNS HIS COMMISSION.

Poor freeping rightwingnuts; so stoopid.
