More evidence pressure on Sinclair working... |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 03:04 PM by Memekiller
Here's the response from Ancira dealership in San Antonio. Note that they are open to pulling advertising if the pressure stays on. Also note, the e-mail for further comments is pointless, since they will just be disgarded, and their excuse for delay is basically a stalling tactic. If we keep putting pressure on, believe me, they'll buckle. Here's the e-mail to use: gancira@ancira.com.
Thank you for your comments.
We at the Ancira group of Automobile Dealerships are in business to sell transportation. We do not endorse any political party nor do we purchase our advertising in order to endorse a specific ideology. Our advertising agency makes its placement in advance, most of the time about 3 months ahead of time. We purchase from all the local TV stations, radio, and news papers and the sole aim is to target customers looking for a vehicle. We try to steer away from any bias or controversy.
Our employees are free to choose and vote for whatever party they feel inclined to vote for. I’m sure we have a good representation from all the parties but we do not nor will we try to influence them to make any choice that is not their own.
We visited the Sinclair web site and following is the statement we found on their front page:
We welcome your comments regarding the upcoming special news event featuring the topic of Americans held as prisoners of war in Vietnam. The program has not been videotaped and the exact format of this unscripted event has not been finalized. Characterizations regarding the content are premature and are based on ill-informed sources.
Massachusetts Senator John Kerry has been invited to participate. You can urge him to appear by calling his Washington, D.C. campaign headquarters at (202) 712-3000.
if you would like to make further comments on this matter, you may do so at: comments@sbgi.net
We will continue to monitor the progress of the proposed forum to see how fair and balanced it turns out, but let me repeat that our advertising is purchased as a demographic analysis of the audience and their ability to purchase a vehicle for their transportation and with no regard to any political ideology. If a balanced presentation of the truth is not achieved, we will consider having our advertising removed from that program.
Thank you,

1. i want them to air the show |

Do you know how turned off people are gonna be when they see the bullshit show? Most undecided voters dont like the way politics are turned into a spectacle showing that this person did this or this person did that. Like the Bush dui in the 70's, undecided voters dont give a shit if a guy got a dui 30 years ago. They dont give a shit if clinton inhaled in college. And likewise, they arent gonna give a shit about the lies in this show. It will turn them off, as it should.

I strongly suggest you rethink your dependence on "a demographic analysis of the audience and their ability to purchase a vehicle for their transportation and with no regard to any political ideology"
It may sound good in an email, but a lot of Dems won't buy your stuff if you help fund our enemies.
