1. the British shut down a large vaccine manufacturer |
The vaccine the company was producing was contaminated with bacteria, so the British yanked their license.

2. Vaccine manufactured in Great Britain. They did an inspection. |
Problems with things not being sterile. Great Britain yanked license of something for the manufacturer. Vaccine batches not approved due to conditions.

6. Sorta interesting. US company I believe. Making drugs overseas. |
And probably claiming that drugs from overseas are not safe for budget minded seniors to buy... Guess they were right this time. Sorta a self-fulfilling prophecy, or in this case, profit-see.
I believe there are drugs manufactured in Ireland also. Makes their agruement about re-importation of drugs from Canada pretty silly.

8. or gives them a "see we told ya so" opportunity. |
using bushlogic of course.
so we've outsourced our vaccine-making to the brits, and they got it dirty, so this is why we can't re-import our drugs from Canada. See? it's makes perfect sense.

4. And someone explain why we can't trust US drugs reimported from Canada? |
After all, the admin puts our entire flu vaccine supply--which disease actually DOES kill 30.000 a year--entirely in the hands of foreigners who are policed by foreigners. Either it was a good idea or it isn't.

7. Well, we didn't have enough vaccine last year... |
and this year, the CDC recommended that 175 million "at risk" Americans be given the vaccine. Our wonderful federal government responded by ordering 100 million doses of vaccine. So, after we were already 75 million doses short, the Bush administration had to cover their asses, so they came up with the 50 million dose shortage, from England, leaving us 125 million doses short. This is also an attempt by TeamBush to make foreign drugs appear dangerous and in unreliable supplies.
