HA! I come home to find my street covered in Kerry signs!!!!
Including houses of people I don't even know and had assumed were voting bush (I live in a Dallas suburb).

One Kerry sign is in front of the house of a woman I posted about here before, who changed her mind depending on who she was talking to. Apparently she has come down on Kerry's side, and enough to even put a sign out front (that's a BIG deal here). Her 22 year old daughter was the deciding factor and talked her into being a Kerry supporter.

Another house ABSOLUTELY cracked me up. It's the house of people I have known were Dems for a while and hate bush. But what's funny about it is, in addition to a regular Kerry sign, the guy went to Home Depot, bought big ol' pieces of wood and MADE a HUGE Kerry sign....it's probably 3' x 5' and you cannot miss it. Big blue painted letters: "KERRY-EDWARDS 2004"

I laughed out loud when I saw it and went over there to congratulate them on putting that out. Turns out he went to some hard-core lengths to put it in the ground and growled "I'd like to SEE anyone try to steal THAT!"

God I love it. Sixteen houses on my street and eight have Kerry signs. IN TEXAS. I didn't see a single Gore sign around here in 2000. Not a single one.

8. Great - I saw lots more Kerry signs today in N.C. too
Highlight of my day was returning home and seeing a brand new Kerry bumper sticker on the car of my very quiet conservative neighbor, after I had already seen at least half a dozen new yard signs driving through the neighborhood.

Hunt County Report

BTW, Rockwall is one of the smallest counties in Texas, when you can drag out 100 Dems in a district that voted 85% R in 2000, something is happening.

today, for the first time ever, I actually finally saw a Kerry/Edwards sticker. Then I saw a car try to run it off the road. Nice place.

I'd love to see big returns for Dems in Texas though. Love it.

WE rock!

Everybody rocks who is willing to fight these fascists.

Voter disenfranchisement all across the country by the looks of it, tearing up Voter Registration cards, etc...

That is the Republican party of today. A pack of thieves. Real conservatives should abandon ship before they are tainted.

19. Apt. Signs
I live in a complex too and don't have a yard. But I got one of the paper signs that are waved at rallys and taped it in my window.

I do it to support my candidate but a bonus is that I live in a complex on the outskirts of a conservative neighborhood of house dwellers. It gives me great pleasure to know that when they drive by my complex to get to the main street, they see my sign. Either that or I force them to take another route! :)

17. Very Encouraging!
In my repug part of the world, there are Kerry signs throughout the city, but no * signs. You have to go into the more upscale neighborhoods to find * signs--and when you do there aren't as many as one would expect.

I know my parish won't go Kerry, but it's good to see some of my fellow city residents fighting the good fight!

18. WOW!
That must be due to your good work. I travel all the time for my work (consulting) and have been to about 23 states over the past 6 months. I haven't seen anything like that--50% of the homes with yard signs out! (I am sure that there are areas with lots of politically active people, but I see very few yard signs for either candidate--people seem to want to avoid the hassle.) The most signs I have seen this election year have actually been in Colorado--lots of people seem to be enthusiastic on both sides about the Senate race.

It must be your influence on the neighborhood. I can hardly wait to see the statistics of how we do in Dallas....

22. Oh there are other parts of Dallas and Texas
that are this politically active.

Austin comes to mind. And there is a FIERCE House race going on in a district in Dallas (Dem Martin Frost against rePUKE Pete Sessions) and my GOD the sign war in that district is just overwhelming. Signs (MULTIPLE) in every frigging yard and some of them are those HUGE signs.

Whooo.

33. Travis, Harris and Bexar counties might go Kerry
That's Austin, Houston and San Antonio, but I don't know if it will be enough. Austin's conservative country to the north is Williamson, but their population just isn't that big. Houston has suburban counties (like Ft. Bend - DeLay country) that will go heavy GOP, but Harris County proper, I don't know. Lot's of minorities, senior citizens and move back into the city yuppies make up the VAP in Harris County.

Oddly enough, in 2000, Bush got over 200K votes LESS than Kay Bailey Hutchison got for Senator. Makes you got hmmmmmmmmmm.

I'm gonna buy some eggs, so Bush can leave office the same way he came in. With his limo being pelted with eggs.

26. Signs on public property
I have seen signs here on school property and other public places. I didn't think they could do that. There was a guy at the civic center near the fire department and a high school who was pulling out even more signs.

It's like this town's gone sign crazy and I'd say it's about even between the two candidates. Even the local elections are going back and forth like crazy. It's just amazing to see around here.

27. Was in Louisville yesterday. Could not believe all the
Kerry signs and bumper stickers. I'm deep in Red/Bush* country so I was very surprised. (Counted 43 Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers on the 40 minute ride - 0 for BushCo - really, I was looking!) I finally went down one residential street and lo and behold - there was a single house with three (three!) BoyGeorge/Cheneysaw signs. The owner was really trying to get the message across. Of course, in a classical case of keeping up with the Joneses, the houses on either side of this bozo each had three Kerry/Edwards sign in each of their yards. We have dueling political signs in Jefferson Co.

28. Today on the road....
Today on my way to work I was stopped at a light and a car in front of me had a Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker on it and a big sign on their rear window that said "BUSH LIED THOUSANDS DIED" in magic marker. So I pulled up next to them to give them the thumbs up and saw it was an elderly couple... I beeped & waved & they did the same. It was SO awesome.

However, in doing this, I had slowed traffic for a minute, and the asshole behind me saw their big sign and saw me roll down the window, beep, thumbs up, and wave. He's furious, goes flying past me, cuts us both off and tears down the road in his Lexus sporting BUSH stickers.

Typical fucking Repugnant.

to put out the Kerry/Edwards yard sign I just bought. My house can not be seen from the street, so only my 2 neighbors will see it, but I will see it everyday. Both of my neighbors are Chinese so I just hope the vote for Kerry; can't imagine them not.

38. More Kerry than Bush signs here in Bucks County, PA
I was driving through town yesterday, and the signs were split pretty equally by party -- but most of the Republican signs were for local offices, not for Bush/Cheney.

That's really striking -- this area has always been predominantly Republican, I think largely because people felt the Democrats represented the interests of the suburbanites in the lower county and not the rural dwellers and townsfolk here in the north.

Lately the suburbs have been creeping up our way, which may have something to do with it. But I think it's more that people have decided that even though their local Republican assemblyman may stipp represent them, Bush definitely doesn't. It's very encouraging.

40. A fine hobby, counting the signs and stickers.
I have been counting signs and stickers since August. I live in the Akron, OH. area, but travel extensively around the state. The numbers have trended the same all along, with Kerry winning by wide margins on most days. If I travel to Cincinnati, the oposite is true, but everytwhere else Kerry wins. I can only remember two days in the last 6 weeks when the Shrub won. I have "Dump Bush" Signs on three sides along with quotes in the windows, and along my rear window deck. I often find folks reading.....I guess they are thristing for knowledge.I really do believe Kerry is going to take OHIO along with the Popular Vote, and the Electoral College. I am the Anti-Bush on Wheels.
DUMP BUSH!
