I got a reply from PepsiCo concerning Sinclair Broadcasting. |
|
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to contact us at PepsiCo. Accurate and balanced journalism is important to us, and we appreciate your thoughts regarding Sinclair Broadcasting Group's upcoming plans. We have no national advertising buys scheduled with Sinclair Broadcasting, nor do we plan to advertise on the program in question. We will also make our bottlers aware of this situation and share these concerns so they can take them into consideration as they plan their local marketing efforts. We will follow the resolution of this issue closely. Given your concerns, we also would suggest that you communicate your views directly to Sinclair Broadcasting Group's President and Chief Executive Officer, David D. Smith. He can be contacted at Sinclair Broadcasting Group, 10706 Beaver Dam Road, Hunt Valley, MD 21030, or via email at comments@sbgi.net Again, many thanks for bringing this to our attention. We value your comments, and equally, the constructive spirit in which they are offered.

2. They need to UNDERSTAND..... |
|
that these 62 stations are being watched between NOW and when this program airs.
If any of thier vast array of products are on there, then they are not neutral. Then they are written up for a lifetime ban.
It's a COMMERCIAL FREE "DOCUMENTARY"!!! OF COURSE THEY'RE NOT ADVERTISING DURING IT!!
But if they're advertising there in the days leading up to it, then they are complacent.
Don't let them sweet talk you!

3. I got a reply from a Fazzoli's representative in the Lexington, KY |

viewing area. (Italian fast food chain) Said they were all for free speech, did not support any particular political party of candidate, yadda, yadda, yadda. They do not intend to advertise in that market during the time period of Oct 21-24. Wrote back and said that I did not feel that was good enough and was taking a coward's way out by not speaking out against Sinclair's terrible actions. By supporting this nonsense AT ALL, before, during or after the program in question is unpatriotic and a lame attempt to skew an election. I will still be urging all my family and friends not to patronize their establishments.
Here is what I received:
Thank you for your e-mail.
We are aware of the situation regarding Sinclair Broadcasting and their affiliate stations. As an organization, we do not support any particular political party or candidate. As part of our media practice, we regularly evaluate where and when our advertising appears on all television stations.
Our current media plans do not include advertisements on Sinclair affiliates during the period of time that includes October 21-24, when the program in contention is proposed for broadcast. If and when the program airs we will review our future relationship and planned business with Sinclair's affiliates.
Thank you for sharing how you feel about this issue. We value your feedback and your patronage.
Regards,
Kathy Watkins Vice-President, Communications
