Bush Abandoning Pennsylvania?
Those of us here in Pennsylvania may not have George W. Bush to kick around anymore -- at least not in person. The New York Daily News -- which is traveling with the President in Arizona today -- says that no Pennsylvania TV markets were in Bush's top-ten spending list last month, and an aide has told the newspaper that no visits from W. to the Keystone State are in the works anytime soon.

If true, it would be a remarkable development considering that Bush has visited Pennsylvania as president some 39 times -- more than any other state. With 21 electoral votes, it's also the second biggest of the so-called battleground states after Florida. The Bush campaign, while acknowledging no trips are planned here as of today, said a pull-out is just "a rumor."

Recent polls have shown that Kerry may have pulled ahead here -- but not by a lot. While the Daily News' Keystone Poll shows the Democrat now up by 7 points, Kerry's lead in the recent Quinnipiac Poll is just 2 points, within the margin of error. But Al Gore did win Pa. by about 4 points in 2000, so it's possible that the GOP sees the writing on the wall in 2004.

1. I heard this earlier. It's a bit of a csurprise to me.
That's a LOT of Electoral votes to ignore. Internal polls must be much worse than the public ones.

7. I know that, but if they stop visiting NOW, that means he's giving up.
I was just a disappointed with the Kerry team giving up on NJ the other day, but I guess there isn't a bottomless pit of $$, no matt4er what party you're in.

10. mcgreevy is a scumbag.
mcgreevy didnt release 2.5 millon in elections funds that he controls - the fscker. all he needed was ONE signature... just one, and jersey would be even more in play than it already is.

mcgreevy should be hung out to dry, and most likely will.

4. We loves us some Kerry here in the Keystone State!
I live in a very conservative part of the state, and I NEVER thought I'd see the Democratic party here SO ACTIVE -- or so many Kerry bumper stickers and yard signs.

And if it's like that here in Republican Hell ... well then, what must it be like in the more liberal parts of the state?!

5. I will not trust this untill Pa is called for Kerry and bush has conceeded
I am not letting down my efforts in any way. I think it is a trick to get the 527s to leave the state and concentrate in other smaller electoral votes states.

8. When? Where? Can I go?
I'd love to go to a rally! York isn't TOO far from me. Is it something I'd have any hope of getting in to? Only thing is, DH & I are planning a big MoveOn canvassing push on Sat., so we might not have the time, partic. if the rally is in the afternoon.

9. The smash and smear TV ads continue though...
Haven't seen much of any let up on the TV ads. Most are the same ad hominen crap as before being played like a broken record.

If he's pulling out, I'm not seeing it...
