We've got a serious question for the media here: what happened at 9:09?
At exactly 9:09, bush CHANGED. He totally changed. He slumped, he got quiet, he started slurring more obviously, he stopped gesturing, he started uhhhing and ahhhhing and shit. Where did he go?

What happened? This happened in the first debate, too. After about an hour, he just.....went away......

I think we deserve an answer as to what happens to him after an hour. We can't have a president that can't even hack anything for over an hour.

I want an answer. Is he on something or is it an organic/physiological problem?

I am emailing the media and asking that question. Don't believe me? Roll back your tapes of this debate and watch at about 9:09. It was PALPABLE.

2. The drugs wore off.
The question, of course, is what are the drugs and what is he taking them for?

3. Debatin is hard work - he just winds down like a clock.
He's got an attention span of a minute and a half, so to go this long is just hard work.

11. More sedate
I noticed it too!! It is almost like he had a voice in his ear telling him to "CALM DOWN"... he got more sombre and spoke in a more 'calming' tone...

What is going on??

12. I assurme you mean 9:08 Central Time?
If so, I said the same thing. He was ranting and raving at everything asked to him, then at about that time, he was mellowed out.

I told my wife that Rove or whomever is coaching him must have told him to chill out.

15. Yes Central Time
I think something happens. He just runs out of steam. Now WHY is the bigger question. What causes that to happen?

What was the question or topc right before that?
Maybe that had an effect?
Maybe his attention span wore off.

18. Before that he was inappropriately giddy
Silly, giggling, smiling. It was very creepy. He was clearly on something to control his temper, probably some kind of tranquilizer .

19. This is worth e-mailing the media about
It's weird. Yes, he runs out of steam, on clockwork.

This is far more interesting, IMO, than the lump on his back. Anyone else up to bugging the media on this one?

He just sort of faded out. All his answers reduced themselves to vague generalities and niceties.
