Poll question: What Will It Take To Get A Strong Minority Voter Turnout?
Surprise! Safe to predict that the nominee will be a white guy. So assuming that's the case, what's it going to take to motivate our minority base? Or will anything we do at this point come-off as pandering?

1. other
Minority here. I'm turning up for one simple reason: George W. Bush. Most minority people I know will tell you the same thing.

3. What would you like to see from the Dems?
Lesser of two evils is not good enough for the party. I'd like to think we can do more, and do better.

2. Feet on the ground
What do most people hear except TV ads? What it takes is group organization getting fired up and effective. It takes money too. it takes a charismatic candidate and hope.

I think the days are gone when the professorial exact issue positions actually turn out votes. People are easily swayed into voting for Sscwarzenegger based on admiration and hot air.

You have to get with them and mix, but that is millions of people. You have to physically spread the word and the touch.

4. A sense of efficacy
Minorities in general and African Americans in particular have felt that they don't or can't make a difference in the elections. If we (dems) let them know that they can by referencing the 2000 election and how close it was it may drive up turnout from those much needed groups.

8. You're right. We need a CANDIDATE
who will reflect the highest ideals of the Democratic Party, not same-o, same-o.

Just talking to white people about race doesn't hack it. Our candidate needs to discuss the issues around race, issues like JOBS, bias of laws against blacks, EDUCATION through college level, inner city schools, HEALTH CARE, JOBS GOING OVERSEAS, as well as so-called "race" issues.

this is a CLASS ISSUE as well as a RACE ISSUE. Remember that phrase "underlying causes?"
