Every answer is education?
Did anybody notice that? Every economic question ended with education as the answer. What the heck good is education going to do when even the jobs of the educated are being shipped overseas? I thought Bush had no answers at all and has no clue what's going on in this country.

1. I Just Wish Someone Would Mention How Much...
we spend on defense compared to how much we spend on education. That should tell everyone how important America thinks education is.

3. That's because his nasty sham of an education bill
No Child Left Behind is the ONLY thing he thinks he has to lean on.

And it's total crap. I'm a Texas teacher and I can tell you from the trenches it is CRAP. It would take me five hours just to detail how much harm it has done. The good it has done? That's easy: none.

4. absolutely!
The jobs question particularly. Bush's response was education. I know lots of people with college degrees who either cannot find a job, or are working in low-paying jobs because the good jobs have disappeared.

More college degrees is not a solution for our lack of good jobs.

5. I watched with my Mom--
she and I couldn't stop laughing about that by the end of the debate. No matter what the question-education was the ONLY answer!

13. Especially the manufacturing jobs

I'm imagining some 45 year old guy in a t-shirt, drinking a beer, who just got laid off from the plant. He's going to get help with education? My husband and I about rolled off our chairs. Can you see the beer spitting across the room? What an idiot. Out of touch.

7. "...and did you know Kerry voted for tax increases 95 times..."
on almost every answer as well. Broken record technique. Sounded shrill.

9. Loved it when Bush claimed Kerry'd only passed 5 bills.
Turned out to be over 50, not counting others he endorsed.

How many has Bush passed? Uh, that would be NONE.

10. When it comes to education ....

All that money spent for redundant testing could be used to hire MORE TEACHERS. Think of Clinton's 100,000 new cop program. Substitute teacher for cop. It's that simple.

More teachers means more personal attention. It means smaller class sizes.

Kids were ALREADY BEING TESTED ENOUGH!!!!! The schools could have USED THE MONEY!!!! You know the money you budgeted but NEVER allocated!!!!

11. His incoherence is incredible and increasing.
President Bush said that No Child Left Behind will solve the problem of the Minimum Wage? Please Mr. President, we have not made it to Mars yet. We will wait for your return to Earth.

12. I've been pretty "overstuffed" with the "Education Answer" to
every single domestic issue also! A woman called into C-span today when they had a couple guys on: One for Kerry, the other bush. These guys were talking about education AND health savings accounts....

Oh, wait, the one fella from the Bush camp was G. Liddy's son (what a jerk). Anyway the lady caller was old and didn't sound extremely healthy. Her question about health savings accounts was: How are people who wait your tables, wash your cars, cut your hair, clean your hotel rooms going to be able to afford to SAVE anything, let alone a healthcare package.

Liddy glossed over the question altogther..went on to talk about HIS savings plan and on to education. NO ONE addressed that woman's concerns.
